We built this house in 2007 and kept expanding it. Currently we don't live there so it's up for rent!

Libby and Stefan were really responsive from the outset and answered all my questions very helpfully. Check in was easy with the neighbour who met me at the house with the keys.
The house is in a beautiful spot, with a lovely garden at the front and a forest behind which you can explore. You can also walk up the hill behind the house for some good views of the mountain and surrounding forests.
Everything worked great, from the hot water to the electricity (part of which comes from solar panels) and the bed was very comfortable. Perhaps the only thing was that the internet, though I didn't use it more than a couple of times, seemed to be very slow. For me this wasn't a problem, but it might be worth bearing in mind if you're planning on making Skype calls for example.
I would recommend renting a car as it made the trip much easier and also made going to local farms / shops for supplies simple. There are lots of great places within a 10-15 minute drive to buy fruits, berries, vegetables and all kinds of local produce, which is delicious, fresh and amazingly economical.
A few other positive points: in the house was an extensive range of books (some in English, some in Spanish and even some in German) which were great to have to hand, and not far away are two sets of neighbours who are very happy to chat and help you out. Also, the house has a wide stock of spices, rice, oil and so on so that you don't have to do a full shop when you arrive.
Overall, I had a great stay and totally recommend it.
Casa Del Sol is a little piece of heaven! Being new to airbnb and our first time in Chile, it was a bit of a gamble for us to take this house for a whole two months, but we could not have been more happy about our decision! Not only is the house much nicer then we even imagined - newly built, big, clean and very comfortable, the surrounding nature is incredible! The hilltop volcano view, privacy, gardens, starry skies and open pastures with the sound of goats and chickens in the distance have made for a very peaceful and grounding experience. The owners are probably two of the nicest and most helpful people you will ever meet and their Chilean neighbor/caretakers were just as wonderful - making us feel incredibly comfortable and taken care of, even bringing us fresh baked bread "tortillas" and homemade cherry marmalade on occasion (-: And it was no problem getting around without a car... a pleasant walk to the end of the road and the buses come every half hour taking you to all the nearby towns and ski resort. Everything could not have been more wonderful and the home was the perfect place to explore this beautiful country! Thank you for sharing your home with us, we can't wait to come back!
no one could ask for better guests than libby and stefan and the oh! so adorable! baby rose. even lucy their dog was a good guest. they were such interesting conversationalists and extremely good natured. and stefan is a very talented cook. it was altogether a marvelous hosting experience!!
It was a pleasure to welcome Stefan Elizabeth and their lovely baby daughter and their well behaved friendly dog.
This was my first air b n b experience and I have to say it couldn't have been smoother.
Stefan & Elizabeth are easy going undemanding and self sufficient.
They are obviously seasoned travelers. I would highly recommend them anywhere. they were considerate with leaving closed up garbage and left the place very neat.
Libby and Stefan were great guests, lovely and interesting. We felt really comfortable with them and enjoyed our time together. They were neat, busy, considerate, and seemed to truly enjoy Portland. They are welcome to come back any time!
Great folks who seemed to love the area!
Steffan is a good guest. The house was as neat when they left as when they came. He was the first person to ever turn down the thermostat and seperate recycling. I was a little suprised he did'nt go in the fuse box and turn off the hot water heater. Maybe next time. I highly reccomend this guest.
