This is the most beautiful location and room we have ever stayed in with air BNB! The breakfast was huge and freshly cooked! Frank and Elizabeth are kind, jovial and obliging in every possible way! There were so many extra touches to the accommodation .....books, magazines, DVD's, lollies, coffee and tea available at any time. So many good things to say....I loved the hammock! Oh, and the local pub....The Punchbowl....served fresh, delicious meals. Everyone was so friendly! Real village feel! Thank you Frank and Elizabeth for such an enjoyable experience!
It was our first day in UK and we are greatful Elizabeth and Francati for their warm welcome. The room was nice and comfortable, the village was charming and the english breakfast was really fantastic. Elizabeth is really friendly and amiable host.
My wife Pam and I had a fantastic time staying overnight with Francati, I only wish that we had stayed another day or two. Our sat nav got us a bit lost on the way to his house and he was incredibly helpful over the phone and directed us directly to his beautiful cottage on the river. I could have used hie help later in Europe when we got lost weeks later. We sat up late discussing various topics but usually got back to classic motorbikes. He is an absolute fascinating guy to talk to on this topic and has an interesting collection of photos and memorabilia. Breakfast was great, we could not have had a better time and when I return to England their bnb will be one of the first places on my list. I have already recommended a stay with Francati and his wife to friends who will be travelling soon.10 out of 10
When we arrived, Frank welcomed us with a cup of tea served in an attractive conservatory overlooking the river. Just as advertised, the three beds in one bedroom were clean and comfortable although there was not much room for anything else.
Full English breakfast was served in a super nice setting in the bright conservatory, all as promised and when asked we even got porridge.
Frank was very helpful in all our needs.
Burton-in-Lonsdale is a very sleepy little hamlet. The pub up the street is warm and cozy with a reasonable menu. Shops are in the next little village about 2 miles away.
The river cottage accommodation is excellent. The surrounding area is picturesque, the locals are friendly and Frank is an experienced host. Our bedroom was pretty, sizeable and comfortable and the bathroom modern and clean. Frank cooks a delicious english breakfast which will keep you going all day. He was also very knowledgable about local sightseeing. Highly recommended. Gitti and Michaela from Australia
