I visited Paris for a weekend. The Apartment is well situated and the next metro station is nearly in front of (250m). Marie was a great host. After a warm welcome she showed me my room (with a comfortable bed) and gave me a lot of tips what to visit. Every morning she prepared a very nice typical French breakfast.
I really enjoyed my stay. Thanks Marie!
Marie-Francoise is a lovely host who presented wonderful home-made jams each morning with freshly baked croissants and was SO helpful with her advice and Paris knowledge. She is a lovely person who was so welcoming in her home. The room has all you need.
Oliver's Aunt - Marie is a very very lovely lady, a wonderful lady to talk to. The first day as my train was delayed for 1.5 hours, she patiently waited for me and was worried where I was and called me up. She gave me a very warm welcome and showed me around the house and my room and gave me great advice on what to eat, where to go, what to do and she had books and maps all ready for me. Her breakfast preparation was no less than perfect, typical Parisian breakfast with coffee, croissants and jam and she would always make breakfast the time i requested it. Her apartment is very cosy with a nice small balcony, very clean and comfortable. Marie went the extra mile for me, when I was down with a rash that would not go away, she even gave me a cream that made it better in just 2 days when I had that rash for 5 days previously that would not go away. And on the day I left, I even forgot my most important bag and Marie hurried to call me from her balcony and passed it to me, I cant thank her enough for every thing she has done for me, even bringing me to the local market:) Marie is a superb host, I always felt at ease chatting with her about everything and she is such a sweet lady, I would never forget my first trip to Paris being hosted by such a lovely host and my stay was well beyond pleasant and enjoyable. I had a great great time staying with Marie! Merci!!!
Olivier is very informative, he replies to emails within a few minutes or hours and he's really helpful in answering all questions you might have. Marie, the owner of the flat, is Olivier's aunt. She is warm, friendly and really helpful. She made me the BEST croissants and chocolate pastries I had in the whole of France. Marie timed for the pastries to come out of the oven exactly when I sat down for breakfast. The apartment is gorgeous, centrally located to ALL main attractions in Paris. There is a metro 2 minutes walk from the flat. There are loads of cafes, restaurants and bars within walking distance and there is a great Sunday morning market which sells LOADS OF CHEESE! and leather bags, veggies, fruits and there is a great African jewelry stall with unique pieces.
The apartment is very quiet in general, but I did wake up a few mornings because i could hear the voices of small children in the hallway. But that cant be helped because it is a flat, and its normal to hear your neighbors. So if you are a very light sleeper like me, then bring ear plugs and you will be fine.
Marie is REALLY helpful. As soon as I arrived at the apartment it was 9pm and Marie welcomed me with a salad because she knew I hadnt eaten dinner AND she offered to walk with me around the entire neighbourhood. I really appreciated both these gestures as someone traveling alone. So if you are a lone traveler and want to stay in a place with a host who will be there the entire stay to answer questions and give you wake up calls, this is THE place for you!
We had a very enjoyable stay in the apartment, which is situated a few short blocks from Bastille t. Marie-Francoise was a wonderful
host,, very warm and friendly. Highly recommended. She is obviously of high integrity.
One small pie
ce of advice is to allow plenty of time to book a taxi when leaving. We would certainly stay there again.
With the directions the place was easy to find and the room was comfortable and quite. Since it is very close to Bastille we were able to explore all the famous sights by foot. Oliviers aunt Marie Francoise was a wounderful host. She is very hospitable and puts the well-being of her guest first. Besides a nice breakfast she offeres very good advice on what to visit in Paris and where to eat and after a few days we started to feel more like good friends than guests.
Lovely lovely place. Hospitality and host A-1. Spotless, beautiful, handy walk to everything. Could not have been a better experience. I look forward to staying here again.
Marie Francoise's apartment is lovely. As she was on holiday in Sparin, she kindly arranged for her lovely sister, Danielle, to meet us on arrival, and departure. We sure did appreciate the lift, and the double glazing made the apartment very quiet. We were provided with ample breakfast foods, and plenty of useful information to assist us with our stay. We appreciated the recommendations for restaurants, which were only a short walk away. We dined at L'Industrie, and Le Truc, both of which we can recommend for good, brasserie meals. I hope we can return and look forward to meeting Marie Francoise.
Actually the host of this apartment is not Olivier but his aunt Marie Francoise.
Marie Francoise is a very warm and welcoming French lady who speaks English well. The booking went very smoothly and my e-mails were answered very quickly. I felt especially grateful for the detailed information on how to get from the airport to the flat. On my first day she even went down to the Metro station with me to explain how to buy tickets from the machine.
The flat itself is very cosy. The bedroom looks out on the backyard, which makes it very quiet.
The location is a really perfect launch point to explore the city centre. The Place de la Bastille with its three Metro/Undergound lines is only a stone's throw away. Notre Dame is just a 20-minute walk, partly along the Seine.
Marie Francoise happily provided me with lots of tips to make the best of my stay and even let me use her laptop to check my e-mails, etc. Thank you again for being a great host.
