Hammersmith was a perfect location for us who come from the suburbs (Surrey). It was cheap and near enough to leave the car at the apartment (with sufficient free weekend parking) and get around city easily by the tube (major perk for us!) =)
It was nice cosy place and affordable. We did not want to spend too much since we had a busy schedule in the city and will be spending the nights only at apartment. The place was kept clean, despite signs of a popular apartment ie. frequently booked one.
Yes the reviews of the hot water issue in bathroom remains true! But after the first shower, we could master the tricks to get hot water fast and lasts longer! (tips: 1) run sink tap to hot while showering (if turn it off, the cold water kicks in fast) 2) try not to shower too long (or else will waste water in sink and next person will suffer from too little hot water - the heater has a sorta max running time at one go).
It got a little hot and stuffy with the summer heat blazing through the rooftop windows. Can I suggest that a portable fan is made available in the apartment to give ventilation while keeping windows closed at night. We requested for one from the employees at Brackenbury estates where we got our keys but they did not get back to us its availability. On that note, we were NOT informed how to return the keys. The staff at the real estate mentioned there will be someone at the office at any time. We checked out on Sun 11am only to find the office locked and empty. Good thing I bumped into a group of tenants just checking out who shared that they were told to leave the keys through the mail lever at office door. (but that too is risky isn't it, should anyone be watching us and retrieve the keys and enter the apartment. just saying.)
The fridge DID NOT work. Good thing we decided against bringing any food into the apartment before checking in. A little bummed that the drinks and deserts we brought were not chilled for the summer heat.
Another comment, the main front door was slightly jammed. Almost had a scare coming home late one night to a jammed door despite tugging it, as told by the staff of the Brakenbury estates upon checking in. No ans from any other occupants in the building when rang bell. After a few more tries and 15min later, we manage to get the door open.
Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay. It met our requirements for weekend stay. Strong wifi in the apartment gets a yay from us! Highly recommend as a cheaper option for anyone spending a short stay in the city.
The flat is very small, can't stand up in the bathroom easily unless you're under 5ft 7.
The water temperature is iffy, you have to run the bathroom sink tap to get the shower to be hot.
The fridge didn't work so we had to throw all the food we brought with us (hence why we chose an apartment not a hotel). We did cantact the host who said someone would be round but that never happened. I then got in touch again and didn't hear back.
The only good thing about this flat is the location, it's perfect to reach central London but would not return.
Was made to feel quite welcome, nice people though its not a home per say but a rental property. Neighbourhood is great and Hammersmith grove area is very peaceful, flat is clean and reasonably well appointed but downside is the height just means stooping to wash up and use toilet, I am 5'10 so about average height i guess ;)
All told quite a good flat
Also need to walk up a few flights of stairs, fine unless you are disabled or don't like stairs.
Description of the apartment and the availability of the owner was ok. Nothing really special considering other airbnb I did in other part of Europe, but London is a very crowded and messy city so it was ok.
The area is very good (Circle line very close, Hammersmith very close to commute to Heatrhow, 94 via Acton, for the late night return), and the neighborhood is quite and calm (with some Porsche and Ferrari parked :P). Only 3 small neutral thing:
1) Apartment was clean but respecting the "cleaning" level of London. For Italians is just ok.
2) Hot water in the shower comes only if you leave the hot water in the sink opened other way be prepared to freeze.
3) I am not tall (170 cm) , and considering that this is a studio at the last floor of an house, if you are too tall could have problem.
Excellent. Lovely quiet part of London, close to the tube. Studio is as described. Will be staying again
The flat was clean and looked exactly like the pictures. It was great to visit London from this place in a lovely neighborhood close to the Hammersmith Underground and Buses station. I would definitely recommend this studio to spend few days in London.
Great apartment, very central clean and user friendly.
Roof takes a bit of getting used to but perfect for short term.
We checked in very early and checked out late, because no one else was booked straight after it was no problem and a great help.
Shower worked really well and was very hot- just need to run the wash basin for a couple of seconds to warm it up.
Central heating was extremely warm.
Would recommend the unit and we would definitely stay again.
It is very close to Goldhawk tube station, Hammersmith ten minaway.
Flat ideal. Never struggled with the shower as turning sink tap on did the trick. If you are tall it may not be the flat for you. I am 5 11 and was no problem for me. Was clean and well kept. Communication also good
Haroon was very quick at responding to any questions I had for him and left the apartment in a very good state. Would happily recommend him to other Air Bnb'ers!
