Umut was wonderful! He made us feel very welcome, he was accessible on his cell phone and offered great directions to the apartment and suggestions of things to do in Istanbul. When we arrived our cab driver got confused and Umut was incredibly patient and gave him directions over the phone multiple times. He's a great host.
The apartment itself is clean, in an amazing location, and fit 4 people comfortably. There is no living room, however we were out and about all day so this wasn't really an issue for us. The apartment is on the 5th floor without an elevator, which is good to know if you have any difficulty with stairs.
Well, what can we say about our stay here, we arrived early and were immediately sat down for breakfast which was great! Our room was ready so we could check. Aynur and her sisters made us feel very welcome, Aynur drove us up to the Chimaera in the evening and her sister gave us a lift up to the roadside the next morning. The kindness of the people we met here made this one of the best experiences of our holiday so far!!
Umut was a great host. He went out of his way to make sure that any problems were sorted out as soon as possible.
The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the Galata area.
We had a wonderful stay at the Sima peace B&B. I really hope I have the chance to return one day! The village is located in a green area on the sea side. This time of the year it was not crowded at all. The sea is amazingly blue, so we spend many hours swimming. The tree huts are basic but cute. Breakfast and dinner is available at the central meeting point and we're both great! The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, a good place to chat with fellow travelers. Most of them are returning every year. Anyar (I might misspell her name) is a wonderful host, we felt welcome right away! We enjoyed her colorful outfits, everyday a surprise what she would wear! I celebrated my birthday during my stay and they surprised me with a birthday cake after the communal dinner! Ali picked us up from the airport and even drove us to the mountain with flames on one of the evenings. Although we didn't have a common language, we could feel that he has an amazingly good heart.
In general my experience was good, I might have expected a bit more that what I found, due to other reviews but was ok.
The comunication with Umut should improve. The real host of this accomodation is a very nice lady called Aynur. The staff is really nice and helpfull and they are the heart of the place, we didn't have dinner there every night, but if you do you will meet really nice people and share a lot of experience.
About the accomodation, it needs to say that have to improve cleanliness, the room never was cleaned in the 7days we were there. Breakfast was quite poor and being in Turkey, where there is really nice diferent types of bread, to give your guest the bread from the day bfore it's not nice and they just gave us fruit twice! ( Cirali is full of fruit trees)
Me and my wife travel a lot and we have been in similar places, much better than this.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I will give it a 6 just for the nice dinners and the really nice staff.
We were really looking forward to staying at the wooden tree houses after several days of hiking the Lycian way. We had a very warm welcome by Aynur - she makes people quickly feel at home. The dinner she cooks herself is really good and it was a real pleasure to spend the evening with other guests while dining. The garden though was rather a muddy ground and the tree houses urgently need reparation as well. We were quite unlucky with our room: It was not ready when we arrived in the afternoon, which is no problem. But waiting for two hours to learn afterwards that they had forgotten about us was a strange experience. The room they gave us another hour later was not clean either (i.e. full toilet bin) and despite asking again for cleaning they could not manage to do so properly. The room was basic, but that was perfectly fine. The aircon as well as the toilet flush though were quite old and made a lot of noise. As we had to wait for the room for so long we were late for dinner and were again unlucky as there was only a very small rest of the delicious food left over. Unfortunately and despite the nice welcome I cannot recommend this place due to this experience we made.
We had a really special experience when we mentioned to Aynur that we were interested in seeing the Chimera fires… she told one of her lifelong guests and he took us out in his car and also filled us in all about Turkey and the history of this place; this is a great place to make a connection with fellow travelers! Aynur is all about connecting people and that's very much the spirit of this place. One thing, we had a bit of trouble finding it, look for the Sima Peace Pension.
Umut was very kind and forthcoming, he's a very good host.
The neighborhood is just perfect to explore Istanbul by foot or by public transport.
The flat was clean but a bit rundown, all in all we had a very nice stay.
We had a great stay at the Sima Peace Pension! The rooms are basic, but adequate with plenty of hot water and AC. The real reason to stay at the Peace Pension is for the wonderful hospitality and homecooking, along with the other interesting travelers you'll meet! It is a short walk to the beach and downtown Cirali, which we found to be more quaint and less crowded than the Olympos beach.
To get here via public transport: from Antalya Bus Station: take a minibus (found on the backside of the station) to the Cirali pick up station, then take the Cirali van shuttle into Cirali. They will drop you off near the pension.
We had a great time here and this place is inherently social where you meet with all the guests and attend large dinners and breakfasts organised by the host. We met some great people and hung out with them. If you like the idea of a tree house then this is your place. Just be aware that you will need to pay for the food on the day of leaving as it not included in the Airbnb bill.
