We never actually stayed in this apartment but dealt with Anne-Marie regarding her boyfriend's apartment below but the original booking was for the Purple Elephant Apartment
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1228676 (Berlin Suncatcher)
A few weeks prior to heading to Anne-Marie's apartment, she contacted us with some bad news that her apartment would be needing some repair work done to it and the only suitable time for the contracted workers was during our stay. However, she offered a great alternative in her boyfriend's flat which was more than adequate and a 100euro refund for the disruption to our plans. We were happy with this solution.
Anne-Marie kept in immediate contact with details on getting to the the apartment despite our lack of knowledge on the German language and at every stage was helpful and pleasant. Upon arrival at the flat she was waiting for us with advice on where to go on our visit, a phone for use during our stay and the reassurance that if we needed anything just to let her know.
The flat was clean, modern and attractive, providing all the utilities we needed and was in a safe and culturally attractive area with fabulous access to all transport connections.
Anne-Marie couldn't have been nicer about our entire stay and we would stay there again in a heart-beat.
Anne-Marie was great. We didn't stay in the purple elephant apartment because some renovation work was taking longer than expected. Anne-Marie was very apologetic, she organised an alternative apartment and even gave us a mobile phone to use. She gave us plenty of warning in case we wanted to make other arrangements but the apartment she organised was excellent, a clean, fresh sunny top floor apartment close to public transport, restaurants and shops. Thanks Anne-Marie, we had a great time
Volgende keer zouden we zeker weer via Anne-Marie willen huren!
Unfortunately we weren't able to stay in this apartment at the last minute however Anne-Marie had helpfully offered an alternative straight away. The helpful extras didn't stop there, she left an iPad with wifi to use around the city and german phone for us at the other apartment along with the use of 2 bikes (which we would have used had we had more time!). We would definitely love to stay in Anne-Marie's flat if we visit Berlin again!
I wish this apartment was mine. It's beautiful, clean, spacious, quiet, and located centrally in a fantastic neighborhood loaded with restaurants, cafes, and shops (and a short walk from Mitte and public transportation, should you want to go anywhere else). Highly, highly recommended.
Anne-Marie was a great host, meeting us in the apartment to give us the keys and to show us where everything was. There was even a phone (with free calls within Germany) available for use while we were there. The washing machine in the flat was also extremely useful as we had a newborn with us and so were quickly producing dirty clothes and really appreciated being able to keep that under control.
In short, I can't think of a single thing to complain about: it's rare when a trip works out perfectly in pretty much every respect, and Anne-Marie and her flat were a major reason that was the case for us. Thanks!
Superb apartment in a great location! Well kept and very clean. Bicycles and various other perks make it a great find. Anne Marie was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely try to come back again.
Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour chez Anne mary. Elle est vraiment facile à contacter et très chaleureuse. L'appartement était parfaitement propre et très bien équipé. Très bien placé également... nous recommandons chaudement l'endroit!
I can't say enough great things about our stay here!
Anne-Marie was such a brilliant host - incredibly friendly, helpful, generous and a total delight to deal with over email and in person. And the apartment is just as great! It's a fourth floor walk up but that just means an amazing view of the iconic TV tower from the balcony. The apartment is really spacious, clean and comfortable; the kitchen is great; and the wifi and ipad are so helpful.
There's a general buzz from the street below but it's in no way noisy and the area is in a brilliant locations - loads of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. It's an easy stroll to Kastanienallee and the Mauerpark fleamarket on Sundays is a 20 minute walk. Prenzlauer Allee and Eberswalder Strasse S/U-bahn stations are nearby but Anne-Marie's bikes mean you can get around Berlin without really needing the public transport. Plus you really can walk to most of the major tourist spots without too much trouble.
We had the best stay here and would stay again in a heartbeat.
We had good communication with Anne-Marie before her visit. She took care of our place and left everything as you would hope for.
