I was born in Vermont and raised on maple syrup. For a change of scenery, I went to Mills College, an all girls school in Oakland, California (yet continued then and to this day to eat only pure maple syrup). I had the good fortune to study abroad in Madagascar and Marseille, France. I have driven across the USA 3 times, and have traveled to Southeast Asia and all over Europe. What I have loved most about these experiences is getting a feel for a place through the eyes of those who live there daily, getting to learn about gems off the beaten path, and meeting interesting people. I love the idea of Airbnb because I imagine that those who desire to host people in their homes, share my traveling ideals and enjoy the adventure of alternative, DIY traveling. While my current living situation doesn't allow for it, I cannot wait to return the wonderful couch surfing karma I have benefited from throughout my travels.
I am very neat and courteous and in life stick to the idea of "treat others (and others' things) as you wish to be treated." When I travel I tend to sleep in, rise for coffee, and then spend the rest of my time out and about exploring, looking for music and art, and hunting down the best food. I love to share my traveling experiences with a good friend or my girlfriend, Leah.
As for a glimpse into my tastes a la dating sites, I just finished reading The Hobbit for the second time and am now onto 100 Years of Solitude. While driving in my car or cooking in my kitchen I love to listen to NPR, This American Life, The Moth, and on the music side at the moment, Mumford and Sons and Tender Forever.
Thank you for considering me for your home! I promise to treat it with the love and respect all homes deserve.
