Originally from Australia, I settled in New Orleans in 2009 with my American wife. Now we live just outside the French Quarter with two fur children.

My friends and lucked out with this place. It's located in a nice little area about 15 minutes to the quarter and 5 minutes to Frenchman Street. The walk to both is great full of colorful house and great design. The house was just the right size for four adults to stay comfortably for four nights. We didn't need anything but Will made himself available if we did. The location, the well up keep of the property and the price made it great deal and made our trip even better. Highly recommend
Great property, great hosts, great neighborhood. We really enjoyed our stay!
This was a wonderful apartment-beautifully updated and charming. It was located very conveniently to great attractions of New Orleans such as Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter. Will and Brooke were wonderful and gracious hosts going above and beyond to provide us the essentials for our trip. They had excellent communication and made themselves available when needed. Great location, fabulous home!
Exceptional location for exploring New Orleans away from the french quarter. An easy walk to Treme and The Lower Seventh and Marigny itself is home to great bars and cafes.
The music of Frenchman Street is a 5 minute walk away, the house is quiet and clean.
Couldn't ask for more in the best city in the world.
We went to New Orleans with our family of 4. Our children are ages 9 and 13. This is such a WONDERFUL place to stay. Will was great to communicate with and helped answer all of our questions. The house was very nice and clean. It is small, but we did not do much hanging out in our room. It is a great location! Will provided many small touches that were nice: A Keurig, an ipod speaker, restaurant recommendations... just to name a few. We WILL be returning to NOLA and we will look up Will first.
Great place, great host, great location! Wouldn't change a thing.
We stayed at Will's place in the Marigny for two days following Mardi Gras, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Will had excellent communication with us leading up to our arrival in New Orleans. The check-in and check-out process was easy and convenient. We found the apartment to be spacious, clean, comfortable, private, and it really had everything we needed during the stay. Beyond that, there are so many New Orleans travel guides to help you in planning your trip! You will find Faubourg Marigny to be a very peaceful neighborhood, but well within walking distance of several great bars and restaurants (and only about a 10 minute walk to the historic French Quarter). We didn't have an opportunity to meet Will until five minutes before our departure (the taxi was already waiting and we didn't have long to talk with him), but he was very friendly and accommodating. We are looking forward to our next trip to New Orleans, and it would be a pleasure to once again be hosted by Will.
Excellent location for Mardi Gras and super cute. Very clean. Would stay here again. Neat neighborhood and an easy walk to fun. Will was flexible and responsive.
Will's place was clean and convenient--looks exactly like the pictures! Also, the neighborhood is great, and you have privacy there too.
Thank you Will!!
Will is an excellent host and we felt like we were staying in a very thoughtful friend's spare apartment. There were no unpleasant surprises during our stay in Will's remodeled home. He has good taste, it is still very well maintained, and as promised, it was fun staying in a little bit of history. The location is quite convenient if you enjoy taking walks and it is certainly a more cheery and functional neighborhood than say the Central Business District or the French Quarter proper. Most locals -- and we encountered many -- seem to walk or bike, and do both on the street since the sidewalks are in bad shape. Yes, it's not the wealthiest part of town, but everyone is friendly, it is not full of traffic, it has a fair number of good food options, and there is definitely character on par with SF.
People seem to stay up later around here... at least during Carnival. We really enjoyed two parades: Krewe de Vieux and Krewe Delusion, with their creative imagery, and spirited social messages, which both wove their way through Marigny before heading into the French Quarter. It was wonderfully kid-friendly, low key, and under control (at least in Marigny). It was quite a bit more fun than the impersonal larger parade, complete with viewing stands, that we experienced a bit of a week later along St. Charles.
I hope we'll be back in future years. We certainly would have enjoyed staying a few extra days at Will's place.
