Just like her little place, Terri was lovely to work with... quiet, serene, and lovely... Thanks for sharing this wonderful little place!
We had a lovely two day stay at Camp Terri. The cabin is cosy and cute, and Terri a welcoming host. The cabin is fully equipped with local guidebooks which came in handy. Highlight was eating breakfast outside every morning-beautiful!
Terri's cottage is really cool. More impressive still that she built it herself. Clean and well appointed. The outdoor space was perfect to relax under the desert sky at night. Meeting up with Terri for the key was easy and she was available for any requests. This spot is quiet and private and only a short drive to the western entrance of Joshua Tree Park. Definitely recommended.
Terri was warm and welcoming and her space is incredible. Can't believe she built it herself!! Her property is organized so you feel as if you have your own little plot of land which was fun. Being at the Cozy Desert Cottage was a serene and delightful experience - exactly what we needed to relax from city living. We'll be back!
Terri's cottage totally lived up to the billing. I came to spend a weekend away from the city, and got all the quiet and privacy I needed. Terri welcomed me, showed me around the property, and then let me be--which was perfect.
The cottage had all the amenities I needed: a small kitchen with fridge and microwave, a nice sitting area (perfect for writing), and a great lofted sleeping area. The bed was comfortable, and the entire space was nicely ventilated, with a "swamp cooler" A/C, ceiling fan, and plenty of windows to let the cool night air in.
Outside, there's a picnic table, a couple of lounge chairs, and a grill. I came alone, but I imagine it would be a great place to spend the weekend hanging out with friends, provided you don't mind sharing a small space with a bunch of people.
Really close to the shops/restaurants in Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree, and Pappy & Harriet's. Overall, an A+ experience.
What a cozy, private little cottage! The perfect place for a less rugged (than camping) launch point for exploring Joshua Tree, or perhaps someone looking for a high desert get-away to find some quiet and peace. The cottage has everything you need (kitchen, comfy chairs, nice mattress), and nothing that you don't (television, WiFi, etc.) to focus on being in and around nature and doing some self-reflection. Terri was a great host, and has tastefully appointed the cottage in a cowboy theme. Check-in and out were smooth; it is appropriately priced. In the area there is cell reception, coffee shops, Wal-mart, and other things you might want or need. I enjoyed breakfast at Natural Sisters in Joshua Tree on my way to hike 49 palms oasis -- highly recommended.
This spot is very cute and cozy! We enjoyed the friendly cats and the view of the mountains. We used the grill one night which was great! Outside we set up a game of horse-shoes which was fun. It´s a short drive to Pappy and Harriets which is a great restaurant-bar to listen to live music, play pool, and wonder through Pioneer Town. The stars at night are amazing! We explored Joshua Tree two days and it´s a bit of a longer drive than we had imagined (however I guess it depends on which park entrance you use / the hikes you decide to walk). There is a great coffee shop down the street on HWY 62: Ma Rouge.
My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at "Camp Terri" for a couple of nights while visiting Joshua Tree in March.. we hated to leave! Terri was a wonderful hostess. The space was clean and cozy, and very private, you forgot that you were living in someones backyard. Peaceful, relaxing and completely unique. As vegans, we found it VERY easy to eat in Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree.. check out Pappy and Harriet's, Crossroads and Natural Sisters.. Yum! Since we have returned home, no more that two days will pass without mention of the cozy desert cottage. The whole experience left us feeling so inspired. HIGHLY recommended.. we will surely return one day! Thanks Terri!!!!
Terri was a wonderful host during our 2 night stay in Yucca Valley. The house was ADORABLE, with all the privacy you could ask for and amenities for a quick trip like a mini-fridge, warm shower and cute picnic table out front. The house was conveniently located; only a 10 minute drive to Joshua Tree National Park. We'll definitely be staying here again for our return to Yucca Valley. Thanks Terri!
This cottage was a great place to relax and unwind well away from the buzz of the city. Terri's hospitality was great, and the few days I had there were wonderful.
