I stayed at Pierre and Jeanine's while I was visiting Boston for a conference. I didn't get to meet Jeanine. However, Pierre was a fantastic host! He always made sure I was well taken care of. His French breakfast is hands down the best breakfast I've had all year! Because there are two additional rooms offered for Airbnb, I was able to meet the other travelers during breakfast. The atmosphere was always friendly and I felt very comfortable.
The location at Dorchester has its own parking in the back, which was very practical. Dorchester is about a 15 min drive to downtown Boston, so I was quickly able to get to where I needed to go. I would gladly stay with Pierre and Jeanine on their future Airbnb locations. Au revoir.
Pierre is a super nice host. Great breakfast, including some Bob Marley stuff at 8am. Hardly beatable
I was in Boston for a conference and stayed at Jeanine's BnB for 5 days (never saw her around). But, I really enjoyed talking with Pierre and also with other guests who were staying there during that time. Pierre not only is a good host but also an excellent cook, and I still regret missing breakfast on the first couple of days due to my schedule. The walk to the commuter rail station is very close and takes less than 3-4 minutes. However, the subway is a 15-20 minute walk. The Asian flair room also has an attached toilet which, was really convenient and I had to use the common bathroom only to take a shower. There were a couple of negatives like the sheets of my bed weren't fresh and the neighborhood not feeling that great (I didnt have any problems during my stay). But, interacting with Pierre and morning breakfast being absolutely delicious more than makes up for everything and definitely worth the money.
Although Pierre was hospitable (I never saw Jeanine), I could not recommend the place. I did not have a top sheet on my bed, only a comforter. I dropped my pillow between the bed and the wall and noticed that the floor wasn't very clean. During breakfast I was given milk with expired dates, twice. I did not feel comfortable with the safety level in the neighborhood and would caution single women, and even men. Coming back in the evenings I took a cab from the T, one night there was a shooting at the Ashmont T just as I arrived in the station at 8:00 pm.
Pierre was very kind and friendly and his house is really a nice place, my room really looked better than many hotels I've been.
He also fixed us an amazing breakfast (best I had in my trip). the only problem was their neighboors that live on the top floor kept their noise up to 1:30 am and I couldn't sleep until that time, but apart from that everything was just perfect.
The room was as pictured, and the breakfasts by Pierre were absolutely delicious. Definitely a perk not found with many other hosts! The check-in and communication process were very straightforward as well. The area was the only issue I had – I had my wallet stollen while waiting at the bus stop, though Pierre told me that it was a fluke and never happens to his guests normally. Great experience with with the room and hosts, not so great with Dorchester.
I spent three nights at Janine's. It is a nice place with outstanding breakfast's graciously prepared and served by Pierre. I recommend staying at her place. The only downside is that it is a longish walk to the T (subway). It was easy for me, but others might find it a bit far. Cabs are usually always at the Ashmore T to get to Janine's at night. Getting to meet and talk with Pierre alone was worth the nightly rate!
We enjoyed our stay with Pierre, both the delicious breakfasts and the good conversation. Congenial host, nice room and location, easy walk to restaurants and to Metro for downtown.
Although our stay was a little crowded due to the house being full, I had a good time staying here - the breakfast in the morning was much appreciated and the bed was extremely comfortable! I was also grateful that our late arrival could be accommodated, given the transport problems I had in Boston! Subway station is about a 15 minute walk away.
Had a wonderful time staying here but he best part was the graciousness of pierre and the extreme effort he exhibited to make me feel right at home
Pierre Jenatton a été un voyageur très agréable avec qui nous avons pu bien échanger.
Pour une première expérience d'acceuil je suis vraiment contente
Merci à air BNB
I've know Jeanine for many years. As writers, entrepreneurs, and roll-up-your sleeves friends, she is an engaging person.
She's a get-it-done gal. You'll be impressed with her humor and genuineness. You'll enjoy a memorable visit, laugh, and eat some AMAZING food.
