The place is very good. The owners and the agency are caring and everything was all right.
The apartment is located in a super location. The studio is indeed small but it is good as a place to crash after a long day out in the city. There are plenty to eat and see just in the neighbourhood. The expressos in Cafe Parisien (just downstairs/opposite) are good. So is the Vietnamese restaurant The Palanquin along the same row -- if one needs a break from French bistros. The agent who handled our stay was prompt, friendly and helpful. We had a good 10 days in Paris. We recommend Pierre & Joelle Viau's apartment.
Very good communication with both owners as well as the agent managing the place. Fantastic location - close to 3 different metro stations and lots of great restaurants and cafes. There is no lift to the apartment so be prepared to carry your luggage up 3 levels. The wireless speaker is a plus if you have a bluetooth enabled device.
Pierre and Joelle's apartment was located in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Very close to Saint Germaine des Pres metro station and famous cafes like Cafe de Flore, Lex Deux Maggots. Street is full of bars and restaurants, and nice little creperie near by. The studio was tiny, but good enough for a couple who only needs to sleep/shower. It also includes a small kitchen with mini fridge, stove, etc. where you can make your own coffee or tea need be. My overall experience was good, and communications were good between between us and the owners. They are very accommodating and friendly, and responded to all of our questions before and after our trip. I would definitely stay with them again. The only thing you need to take into consideration is that the apartment does not have a lift, so if you're not comfortable going up and down stairs it might be a problem, but it was good exercise for us! Thanks Pierre & Joelle!
We stayed in this place for 5 nights and I must say that the entire experience was amazing. We had a very smooth email communication both with the owners and with the agency managing the place. The check in and check out were very easy. However, please check as extra fees apply in case you want to check in or out in certain hours (very early, very late or on Saturday or Sunday). This was not our case however, everyone needs to be informed prior to booking.
The place is just what the tittle says in the very heart of Paris. The interiors are just like in the photos. The place is indeed small but has all the necessary and more stuff that what you may find in an hotel. Like a real and professional hairdryer that proved to be very handy in my case an iron, a great coffee machine, toaster etc... The neighborhood is full of cool cafes, restaurants, shops, what more to say!!! Right next to the metro and within walking distance from Notredame, Louvre, san Suplice, for the rest consult (website hidden)
Pierre and Joelle's apartment is fabulous and I would definitely stay there again. Its small, but fully equipped with a couch, bed, microwave and fully functioning kitchen, which was great on days we wanted to cook and eat in.
The apartment is near 2 different metro lines and bus stops, which makes it great for traveling. The area itself is filled with bars and cafes and even a vintage store selling Chanel and Hermes. You really feel like a Parisian staying in the apartment.
Two things though. One, if you're not strong and will be traveling with a heavy luggage, you'll need help getting it up the 3 flights of rather narrow stairs. I had my boyfriend to help me so it wasn't too bad. Two, there is no cleaning service after the first day. You'll have to wash towels and linen yourself but there's a laundromat just 5 minutes away, so that wasn't really a problem.
All in all, It was a fantastic experience! We got there 3 hours before we were supposed to check in, and when the agency called, they let us leave our bags in the apartment because the cleaning lady was around. Our agent, Olivier was right on time, spoke perfect English and even gave us some tips for our stay in Paris.
Highly recommend it! If anyone has any more questions about the apartment, feel free to contact me :)
Pierre and Joelle's studio is tiny but comfortable, in a great area , quite and full of small bistros and shops- Location is perfect if you just want a place to crash at night. Bed is indeed very comfortable. Wifi signal is very strong- Pierre and Joelle was great in answering questions and following up with us from start to end.
One thing you have to keep in mind is that they use an agent for check in and check out- The agent charges an extra 40 Euros to open the door for you during check in and check out if you check in or out on Sunday - AND.. between 10PM to 6AM they charge 70 Euros- if you happen to arrive or leave at this time period, just make sure you calculate this cost into your fees. Pierre& Joelle did specify in the house rules tab next to the description and amenities tabs that they are using an agent, but we did not know the exact cost until after we booked and had to contact the agent for our arrival and then found out about the real cost. The agent that met us was very nice and helpful, however.
Overall we were really happy with our stay.
It was a pleasure staying there. The apartment is paradoxically located in the livest area of Paris yet the building is so quiet all the day. The appartment is like a big hotel room added to it a nice kitchenet equipped with all the basic stuff you will need. Everything is clean and neat. I do not recommend for people who want to party inside, the same as I would not recommend any apprtment in old paris :) buildings are made from wood and sounds are easly transmitted.
It's ideal for couples or single person but not for a big family.
The area is served by 2 different metro lines and dozen of buses. Metro 4(taken at stop Odeon) is a vital line and ideally serves 3 major train stations and if you are taking RER B to CDG airport, you will find the transfer from metro to RER in Les Halles amazingly smooth.
The only disadvantage is you have to pay extra 40 euros if you are checking in or out at night in the weekend.
Pierre was a perfect guest.
We hope to see him again next year.
hat alles super funktioniert, würde meine wohnung jederzeit wieder pierre und joelle zur verfügung stellen...
