Hannah (my wife) and I live in pretty little Tübingen in southern Germany. I'm studying environmental science (PhD), and Hannah works as a translator and project manager.
It is a real privilege to stay in someone else's home, and to experience life in another corner of the world, if only for a few days. We have had lots of friends couch-surf when we we had our own place in Wellington, NZ, and Melbourne, Australia, and we love the conversations that come up when you are sharing a living space with others.
We're interested in travel of course, as well as music (I majored in vocal performance at university; also play drums, guitar and harmonica; my wife plays the mandolin), books (my wife is a book editor), landscapes, food, languages and people.
We're from New Zealand originally, but have also lived in Australia (3 years) and briefly in Hong Kong and Switzerland. We've travelled through Australia, China, Japan, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Tonga, Iceland, Canada, England, Slovenia and the United States. We hope to add a few more places to this list...
