We met Francesca and her father Beppe when we arrived. Francesca was very informative re the hiking routes and access to the beaches. Prior to our arrival she sent us many wonderful suggestions of where to go and eat. The studio was very clean and very accessible to the rest of the town including the village shuttle and shops. The shopkeeper across the way was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place but watch your head when you climb the stairs to the upstairs bedroom and bring earplugs for the church bells.
Francesca and her father Beppe were very lovely hosts. The town is very quaint - the smallest of the 5 towns along the cinque terre. The apartment was very clean and had everything as advertised. We are very tall so noticed the low ceilings everywhere. The only negatives would be that the internet didn't work and the shower didn't have very hot water. You should also note that there is a very loud bell tower nearby which goes off EVERY 30-60 minutes (including during the night).
It was wonderful staying in Francesca's flat! The flat is super clean, charming and in a great location!
I haven't had the chance to meet up with her, but she was very helpful and gave very good advice for restaurants and places to visit.
Her parents Beppe and Ines are so nice and it was so nice to chat with them during the aperitif... We had the chance to savour lemons from their garden... as well as the delicious homemade marmalade.
We definitely recommend this place!
Thanks a lot Francesca... e forse la prossima volta che veniamo ci incontriamo!
Francesca is a wonderful, honest host and the apartment is really nice and clean. The apartment is close to the train station, so you will hear the trains, but that wasn't an issue for us at all. Its a great location to spend your holiday. With the train and busses close you can basically go anywhere you want.
Its a well-ecuipped apartment and spacious.
I recommend this place for everyone who wants to have a good travel in Italy!
I will definitely stay here again!
Didn't really speak much with Francesca other than at check in (we just didn't encounter her after that), but Beppe and his wife were amazing hosts! They didn't really speak any english, as other reviewers have said, but they are super patient about trying to communicate. I know a little Italian, and that certainly helped, but I think he could manage to get anything across even if you didn't! However much coffee you think you could drink in the morning, he will feed you double that ;).Breakfast is pretty standard-i.e croissants, bread, jam (delicious jam), etc...The room was just as described, although unfortunately there was an issue with the internet. One night, there was an uncharacteristic thunderstorm and our room actually flooded a bit (we were just on a slight incline) but as soon as Beppe realized, he was right on top of it, and was so surprised because it was the first time that has ever happened. Overall, a great stay with great hosts. I would bring earplugs though, as the church bells next door can get a bit loud! Definitely visit the church, though- it was GORGEOUS! After visiting Vernazza and Monterosso, i'm really glad we stayed in Corniglia...definitely the least touristy!
The B&B was clean and nice. For 4 adults, it is a bit small. But we knew that going into it. The unit is real close to where the shuttle drops you in Corniglia. You do not have to go up hills or long distances with your bags. Francesca's father (Bepe) was there to greet us and make sure we had everything we needed. That, too, was really nice. We had a great two nights staying here while we visited the Cinque Terre area.
Beppe is a charming host. It was easy to find the place and he was eager to help us with hiking and trasit information - knowing just a bit of Italian definitely helped since he does not speak much English. The room was comfortable and cozy with hot tea provided. We liked staying in Corneglia.
Very clean, well equipped apartment. We stayed with four people and it was a little cozy, as the bedroom and loft actually share a window, so little privacy. But everything else was great. Francesca was in close contact leading up to the trip. She gave me great recommendations on where to eat and how to get around, ie. parking. We were met by Beppe and given the quick rundown on the place. The town of Corneglia is beautiful and quaint. Wonderful restaurants and beautiful views! I'm so glad we chose to stay in that town and then hike/train to the others. Very easily accessible! I would highly recommend this apartment and Francesca and Beppe! Overall the experience was wonderful! Airbnb has not disappointed yet and I'm excited for the next experience!
We didn't meet Francesca, but she was readily available by email. Her son, Damiano met us at the train station for the two-minute walk from the station. The apartment is great, there is wi-fi and plenty of breakfast food: cereal, yoghurt, milk, eggs, cookies, toast and croissants. Although, remember to bring your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as the trains go until quite late. This wasn't an issue for us. And La Spezia is only an eight-minute train ride to Riomaggiore, the first village in Cinque Terre.
Ottima sistemazione consigliato.
