Spiritual laid back, big time animal lover. " we have pygmy goats, chickens, rooster, dogs."
The camper was indeed cozy and had every thing we needed. The recreation center advertised was a bit further away than expected but it was enjoyable none the less.
I had the most terrific time at the Cozy Cottage! From the moment I arrived, where I found the hot tub running and a bottle of wine waiting for me (along with a lovely note), to the moment I left, I was comfortable, secure, and most importantly, RELAXED. Directions to the Cottage were very clear, so I had no problem finding my way, and even though it feels very secluded, it was still close enough to town to make a quick run to the store if necessary. There is plenty of hiking and rafting close by, and I was able to take a couple of great hikes while I was staying. The Cottage was very clean and well-stocked, and even though I didn't lack anything during my stay, I was secure knowing that Kim was close by if I needed anything. I was able to bring my pooch along too! She LOVED being out on the porch and watching the chickens and goats as they grazed (although I think she was a little intimidated by them!), and we enjoyed walking through the surrounding neighborhood. I had a very lovely experience and would definitely stay here again.
The cottage was nice and somewhat secluded. The roads are tricky if you're not used to driving through the mountains/hills in a small car. The directions were great though we found that (website hidden) maps did provide an accurate route. It was fairly cold during our stay, and the space heater did not really provide enough heat. It definitely did not help to warm up the bathroom. We had a couple of questions about operating the hot tub and we were a little disappointed that Kimberly did not respond until the next morning even though it was not late when we tried to contact her.
If you're going for a quick stay and you're not into grilling, there isn't really anything other than a microwave in the cottage, so make sure you're prepared to have an "instant" breakfast. I would also recommend going to the grocery before coming to the cottage if you arrive in the afternoon, because it is very dark once the sun goes down.
Overall, we had a good time, and arriving to a warm hot tub and bottle of wine was a nice touch.
This is a great place for a quick romantic weekend getaway. Once inside the resort, the drive to the Cozy Camper was a little tricky and I suggest you bring a smaller car if you can. When we got there, the camper exceeded my expectations. It is homey, well decorated, and as it says, cozy. Kimberly was a great host and I was so happy to see that she left us a welcome note and a bottle of wine! Our only regret is that we did not use the recreation center passes, and if we return, we hope to go swimming in the pool and see more of the river.
Great location, great deal, great host!
Thank you Kimberly for providing a wonderful new place for us to get away. The camper was warm, the water was strong and hot and the refrigerator was cold. It was well stocked with all the comforts of home even had a cookie sheet. We only needed groceries which we picked up once we got into town. This is a well guarded/gated community so we felt very secure. During our stay we enjoyed breakfast and lunch at the Corner Country Kitchen Hwy 382(the Cuban sandwiches were great), played miniature golf at the large recreation center, visited a near by petting zoo/animal rescue facility next to the Welcome Center and drove to Blue Ridge for dinner. There are great mountain views and the local community is great for couples and even greater for families. We really enjoyed our stay at the "Cozy Camper" and we will definitely be coming back. One more thing there are plenty of places to eat nearby i.e. Longhorn, Sonic, Ruby Tuesdays, Zaxbys, IHop etc... so cooking is optional
Absolutely perfect weekend getaway! Cant wait to stay there again!
The place was wonderful and Kim was an excellent host. We will definitely stay again!!
A lovely little spot! My boyfriend and I came up here for a quick weekend getaway with easy access to the mountains. We loved the cabin and the hot tub and the goats and the chickens and Kim's extra attentive directions! The balcony is a beautiful spot to enjoy meals and a glass of wine. Note that there is no range top, so you'll have to improvise with a grill/slow cooker/microwave if you're into serious gourmet cooking. We are, and we managed quite well :) I'd definitely recommend this spot to other travelers, and I'd love to come back!
Just as described. Had a great time in the cozy cabin. Especially enjoyed feeding the goats- Apple and Blossom! Will be back!
Kimberley and Kelly are a cut above the rest when it comes to hosting! Me and my family, were a bit of novice to the glamping experience!, But they made sure we were well informed, and gave recommendations to us through out our stay. I particularly like the way they were so patient and very responsive. The cozy camper was a lovely quiet retreat, and decorated to make sure you were comfortable. The amenities of the camp resort, was excellent for families. Seeing the deers through out the resort was a magical. Thank you Kimberly and Kelly.
