I'm a writer and I live in a co-housing community in West Asheville. I moved here from Seattle, WA, in 2010 to write a book about a woman who used folk music to empower communities toward social justice back in the 1930s-50s. I mostly cover folk/roots/Americana music and am happy to talk about it ad nauseam. My partner is a family doctor and we're both into good local food, acoustic music, exercise, and traveling. She has a natural, freakish knack for making up delicious cocktails. Most of our travel time is domestic, visiting friends all over the country. But, we also know the value of a good do-nothing beach vacation.
Five things I can't live without (aside from food, water, etc): family, friends, time to relax, time to be creative, travel/exploration.
