It's a lovely apartment in a great neighbourhood, surrounded by good restaurants & bars, and very close to a subway station. Fantastic kitchen which we wish we'd had a proper chance to use! Everything went smoothly and Lauren made us feel very welcome.
Lauren made it super easy to check in and feel at home. Her place is fantastic: incredibly clean, welcoming, high ceilings, and a back deck. It's also in a great location, within walking distance of anything and everything you'd ever want or need (restaurants, bars, grocery, movies, subway, etc.).
What more can you ask for? Definitely one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had.
We never did get to meet lauren but the key hand off was very smooth. We loved the apartment lots of light and a nice area to sit outside in the back of the apartment. The neighborhood is fabulous with lots of places to explore and some great restuarants.
We spent one week in Lauren'apt and if we ever come back to New-York no doubt we shall return to it. The location is perfect -very easy to get to Manahattan with the F train 3 minutes from the house- and the neighborhood is altogether quiet and with everything that we needed: restaurants, delis, grocery, and all kinds of shops just behind the corner.
The apartement is nice and cosy, perfect for a couple, very well equiped and tastely furnished, and it has a terrace overlooking the garden not even mentioned in the ad.
Lauren was very welcoming and very easy to reach in case of need.
This was our first experience of Airbnb and the whole experience was excellent. It suited us far better than a hotel, was much more relaxing, a far greater sense of freedom and considerably cheaper and better value. (We used a hotel in mid-town Manhattan last year when visiting our daughter.)
We didn't have the pleasure of meeting Lauren but we were well looked after by her husband Ben on arrival. Ben was very accommodating when our arrival was considerably later than expected due to airline issues and we very much appreciated his friendly, relaxed and no fuss introduction to the apartment and the trust in letting us use their home.
The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well equipped and we felt quite at home and relaxed. The location, particularly for us, was excellent, close to our daughters (much smaller) apartment about 3 blocks away. It was also very close to Carroll St subway station where the F line gives easy direct access to almost all the locations in Manhattan you might want to visit. For a bit of variety and a great viewing experience, we took a walk to the ferry at Brooklyn Bridge (via a really nice cafe/coffee shop in Columbia St, Brooklyn Heights) for a short trip on the East River to E 34th Street.
Carroll Gardens and adjoining Cobble Hill are a great neighbourhood to be in and have much to offer including a wide selection of restaurants, bars and small shops - don't overlook it when considering visiting or working in Manhattan. We enjoyed Seersucker (just round the corner past the subway station in Smith St) and trendy Buttermilk Channel down Court St.
Somewhere to stay - we'd recommend Lauren and Ben's apartment.
Thanks Lauren and Ben, we so much enjoyed our short stay in your home.
Best wishes, Mike and Eilidh, Perth, Scotland.
Lauren and a friend stayed at my place this past weekend and were the perfect guests. Easy to communicate with, very sweet, and very clean. I would definitely recommend her as a guest!
Lauren, excelent guest, really nice to host you both!!
