Yolande's place is a cozy little ancient house, right in the Kasbah of Tangier; everything you'll need is within walking distance. Especially the gorgeous rooftop terrace is a highlight. Unfortunately, Tangier can be quite cold in February, but Yolande provided us with very helpful portable heating units! It should be noted that electricity is not included in the rental fee and is payed in cash after the stay (0,25 EUR / 1 kWh). I would very much recommend staying at Yolande's place on any trip to this fascinating, interesting town!
Petite maison agréable et bien située, dans un ensemble original du vieux Paris. J'y reviendrai volontiers en été pour profiter pleinement de la terrasse.... Yolande à été accueillante et attentionnée. Notre séjour s'est très bien passé. Khalid.
An excellent orientation to the Kasbah and medina of tangiers. Mohamed met us at the gate, walked us through winding streets to Yolanda's apartment. He then gave us a tour of the medina, food market and surrounding neighborhood.
The steep steps inside the apartment were somewhat challenging with these old knees. And the services (kitchen, refrig, toilet, shower) were spread out on different floor.
But it was a great introduction to Tangiers.
The location of the house was great; it was nice to be in the quaint Kasbah close to a couple of great restaurants and the famous Cafe Baba. Great views of the Ocean as well. The house--especially the terrace--was very well kept. I did not meet with the host, Yolande, herself as she was out but she was very helpful in giving directions to the location and an area to pick up the keys from her friend (and what seemed to be housekeeper), Mohamed. He was a nice man, spoke broken Spanish and fluent in French and Arabic. My only qualm of the trip was that Mohamed introduced me to a young man (name left out) who was an aspiring tour guide and latched onto us young American tourists. He was quite overbearing about giving us tours and it seemed as if he was always watching over us. If it was not for him, I would for sure give this location 5 stars. However, don't let this dissuade you from staying here-its a great place!
Oh so sorry for that guy ! First time I hear about that "guide" : I will call Mohamed (who has all my confidence since 15 years !) very soon to understand. .. Thank you for telling. Best. Yolande

We loved our stay here. Everything was as described. It was a wonderful location and immediately we became a part of the neighborhood and felt as if we belonged. We walked the labyrinthine streets and enjoyed the friendly people everywhere we went. Sitting on the roof garden, knitting and listening to the 'call to prayer' from the nearby mosques was a particular joy. Our friendly neighbors and helpers Mohamed and Aziza were a lovely addition to the experience and were there if we needed them with help and advice and are part of the service that Yolande, the owner of the Dar, offers. All in all our stay in Tangier was everything we hoped for and dreamed of.
Yolande’s house is in a nice, central and lively neibourhood and it is truly rare to find a house in the middle of Paris. That makes it an interesting experience!
I only slept 2 nights and the weather was not good enough to take advantage of the nice terraces that the house provides.
Yolande was in contact with me and had organized the key retrieval & drop off in an easy way.
However I would say that the house is pretty full and you really get the impression that you intrude somehow. I also think that more effort should be done to provide better facilities like space to put your clothes, few nice dishes, mugs & cutlery for the guests. I also did not get a proper towel but happened to have mine so I did not ask Yolande for one. For a guest that does not know Paris or the neibourhood, a few tips would be helpful.

Une belle maison traditionnelle en plein coeur de la médina pour vivre Tranger au plus près! Un très bon moment... Nous reviendrons très certainement...
