I am a professional in the chocolate industry since 2001. The photos is of me getting into a tux for The Good Food Awards - black tie optional so I decided to dress up - in San Francisco in January, 2012.
I write about chocolate, organize and present chocolate pairing events, travel around the world learning and teaching about chocolate, and consult to chocolate makers and confectioners. My travels have taken me to Bolivia and Ecuador and to Paris and Rome and more - from eco-lodges in the Amazon to Michelin 3-Star restaurants in France. I created and manage the largest on-line chocolate community, with members in more than 140 countries.
I have an undergraduate fine arts degree in photography, spent two-plus decades in various high tech fields, am a published author with two books - one on high definition television production and the other on chocolate - and am the proud father of a truly fabulous fifteen-year old young lady.
I live "The Chocolate Life" which is a metaphor for connecting with your true inner passion and using that connection to drive personal, spiritual, and professional growth, and inspiring others to live their Chocolate Lives. The Chocolate Life was inspired by a Ricky Martin song ... Living La Vida Cocoa. (I am a big fan of puns and when you can make one in two languages that's special.)
