I'm 35, female, writer and teacher.
I travel a lot and enjoy sharing my ship with people from all over the world. It is a special way to see Copenhagen, a huge experience.
I spent a little over 2 weeks on the Alba with Stine. An absolutely great way to visit Copenhagen.
Stine went out of her way to be a gracious hostess... ensuring transportation was available, answering questions, and offering valuable suggestions to a first trip in CHP.
The Alba was an amazing experience in itself. Great to wake up in the morning and feel the breeze coming off the water... to enjoy a glass of wine watching the sunset... or, to cook a meal and enjoy the conversation...
Many thanks Stine...
wow wow wow ... the place to be!!
sehen und erleben :-)
Living on Alba is amazing! The boat is located at the harbor in Holmen - a very maritime area. There is a bus going to the city center within 15 minutes. On the way, you can stop at Cristiania or Christianshavn. There is a supermarket in walking distance that is also open on sundays. We were lucky to be able to have breakfast outside on the deck and watch the sunset at night. The inside is very spacious and cozy. We will never forget our stay at Alba!
Our time on Alba was brilliant, the whole atmosphere on the ship is very special. Stine's sister welcomed us warmly, showed us around and gave us information about everything. The boat is located in a small part of the harbor surrounded by other houseboats and nature. By bus you reach the city center within 10 minutes but it's best to hire bikes! Her Sister organized bikes for us in Christiania, which is about 15 minutes away from Alba by foot and 5 minutes by bike. There are three apartments on the boat, but it's still absolutely quiet and peaceful. We had the best weather, had every evening dinner on the deck and enjoyed the sunset. The apartment is very basic but tastefully and cosily furnished. The bathroom is very nice, with a good shower. Stine answers to every mail, we felt completely welcomed. The only negative point was that we had to leave too early. So, we absolutely recommend Alba!
We (two adults and a 7 year old girl) stayed 3 days on board of the Alba - it was a fantastic experience!
The ship is anchored at a very quiet and beautiful houseboat area in Christianshavn and one really has the impression to be in the middle of pure nature, although the walk to the next bus station takes only about ten minutes and the bus brings you within 15 minutes to the center of Kopenhagen.
Kitchen and living room and the bedrooms are very comfy and in good weather you can sit on deck of the Alba and enjoy the enviroment. (The comfort of the appartement doesn´t live up to Hilton-Hotel-expactations indeed, but that is propably the price you have to pay for such a special place. I found it very nice to cook in the kitchen and to enjoy a shower... in my opinion the other evaluation is exaggerating a little bit on this issue...).
Stine responds to every email immediately and is the most helpful and nice person.
Soveværelserne under dækket bærer desværre præg lettere muggen lugt.
A really unique place to stay in Copenhagen. Very quiet and excellent communication with last minute request. Thanks very much for a great stay Stine... sorry we didn't get to meet you in person.
