I grew up in the Adirondacks and I love to hike, and I've climbed all of the forty six peaks. I also like to bike and kayak. I like to create nice warm spaces to relax and I think that is reflected in my cottage.
It is a lovely house. We love the area and there are so many places to go. Loved that we could walk right down to Starbuck in the morning. The house is warm and inviting. We opted to stay in for dinner one night as the house has a cozy enclosed porch off the kitchen and it is so inviting. All the amenities are there. Overall the house is located ideally and great place -- so nice.
Overall, if two couples are renting this place out, perhaps with a child or two, then you will have a very comfortable stay with the amenities to enjoy your stay while you do whatever it is that brought you to Lake Placid.
Good: 1 block from downtown main street. Relatively comfortable beds. Good bathrooms. Excellent water pressure. Coal bbq and fire pit. Washer/dryer. Quiet inside. Dish washer. Front yard somewhat private. TV with cable. ADK style furniture.
Bad: one of the three bedrooms requires you to walk through another bedroom. Very small - no more than 4 adults. Advertised wi-fi not existing. No gas grill. Advertised bike shed can not fit a bike. 100ft step climb from downtown main street. ADK style furniture.
We had a great stay in Marcy Hill. It is in a great location close to Main Street. The house was very cozy and we would stay there again.
Very convenient to downtown Lake Placid with an easy walk down the hill.
We had a fabulous weekend. The cottage is truly an adirondack experience. It was located near Main Street in a quiet neighborhood . We had a great family dinner then had a fire under the stars . Jackie has a wonderful spot. We would definitely stay again! It is even more delightful then the photos showed!
this is a charming cabin. cozy, but with three nice bedrooms and delightfully furnished. it is very close (easy walking) to main street. the kitchen is small, but thoughtfully put together. host is responsive and has offered a place where you really feel welcome.
Jackie was a breeze to coordinate with and was extra helpful when we had a key snafu!
The cottage is cozy and so very "Adirondack." The front yard is a lovely place to read in the morning or to sit around before the fire pit at night.
Its also a very quick walk to the main street of Lake Placid where there are coffee shops, restaurants and places to shop. The main lake in town, Mirror Lake, is also a quick walk away. Its a perfect location in Lake Placid.
Lovely stay - great location - perfect "Adirondack" immersion! THANKS Jackie
Adorable cottage in a great location. Tastefully decorated and extremly clean. The bedrooms all have comfortable mattresses.
Great communication from the owner. Would rent again.
This is a beautiful cottage and fit all of our needs for the weekend. We had a blast and was able to cook some of meals in the house and walk to restaurants, shops and the lake. We would definitely look to stay here again if we come back to Lake Placid.
Jackie is such a good-hearted person who radiates gentility and grace. Her enchanted cottage, and I do not use that adjective lightly, reflects her exquisite taste as well as her deep love for the Adirondacks. Not only is the cottage comfortable, serene and inviting in every way, it is unique -- there's nothing like it in Lake Placid. Jackie's place is a little bit of paradise...
Jackie is truly a kind, authentic and lovely friend and hostess. Her decorating skills are impecable and her Adirondack cottage so lovely, I would live there in a minute! It is very quiet, set back and private, yet an easy walk to Lake Placid village for food and entertainment. Perfect!!
