I rented Tami's room with a friend for almost 2 weeks. We both liked the place a lot and felt very welcome. I would definitely recommend Tami's place! Tami is a good host. I have nothing to complain about! She also replied very quickly to our messages before renting the room. Tami and her boyfriend Kenny gave us good tips of what to do and where to go for shopping, eating etc.
The room was very nice and clean as well as the private bathroom. The apartment looks great with cool details and art. You can tell that Tami has good eye for visual things.:)
The neighbourhood is nice. There is a small grocery store very near as well as couple of good restaurants and nice bars to chill out and have a drink. Location of the apartment is very good, situated close to subway station. It took about 20min to get to the Midtown Manhattan and it was easy to explore other parts of Brooklyn from there as well. We went to Williamsburg, Dumbo and Coney Island.:)
Tami and her boyfriend are super friendly and extremely nice! Tami was even helping out with taxi reservations and so on. She told us some nice places where to go out and shopping. The apartment is very nice and clean. As guest you have your own spacious bathroom and even a desk with internet connection and printer! The area is very nice, just outside Utica Station (20 minites or even less to Manhattan or JFK) We do really recommend her for your staying in NYC!
It was a pleasure having the chance to share Tami's space in NYC. It was my first reservation in NY out of all the times that I have traveled there, and it was all that we could ask for and then some. The space, was cozy, well lit, and welcoming. I was able to cook a nice dish for the afternoon before we parted and everything came out fantastic. Although Tami was out of town and her boyfriend was rarely there, it was rather convenient for my friend and I, plus they were still very helpful via txt, phone, or email if necessary. I really appreciate the flexibility for timing in arrival/departure– that was the icing. The best part of the apartment was the fact that it was super clean, well-designed, and accommodating. The remote for the television is at your beck and call, and never fear because music devices are everywhere to set whatever mood you are looking to embrace. I hope that I was a guest that Tami would love to have again. This breaks the negative stereotypes that the average NYer has about the Bedstuy Area completely. I'm not advising you to roam the streets in the middle of the night by yourself, but I wouldn't advise that in any parts of New York City period. I did however arrive in the night around 9PM, dark, stormy and all, with minimal activity on the street on foot from the subway station, which was much closer than I thought. I highly recommend the venue and hope that she feels the same about us. Thank you both!
The only little pet peeve is to all AT&T carriers, BE WARE, "No Signal"...very odd, but Tami has your back with WIFI, and a cordless house phone to make phone calls all over!
THANKS SO MUCH!
Tami's room is part of a beautifull apartment adorned with many works of art. A corner of the room harbors an artisan's desk with small tools for jewelry design, but they are completely non-obstructive. The exclusive use of a private bath located in the hall is very convenient. The host is very cordial and attentive. Offers an automatic coffee maker with sufficient coffee beans ready to mill and brew instantly in the morning. The area is quiet but populated with friendly people of different backgrounds who visit its shops, professional offices and churches. There (email hidden) and two places to have a good brunch only steps away along the street. We used the metro (subway) and at all times (including after midnight) we felt secure. Some people had recommended to use a taxi, but we did not feel it was necessary. I certainly recommend this place.
I booked for another guest, and he was happy about the stay. Tami was very friendly and the place clean and neat.
Tami was very friendly and her home is beautiful. The bed was extremely comfy, too!
I had initially booked with Tami less than a week before my trip to NY. Tami was very prompt and thorough with all her responses to my inquiries. This was my first experience with airbnb and Tami was amazing at making me feel comfortable and at home prior to being physically in her apartment. Upon my arrival, I was given a tour of the apartment which was absolutely gorgeous. I was very impressed with how quiet the street was at night (I arrived after midnight) and the overall beauty Bedstuy had to offer when I took the time the following morning to take a stroll throught the neighborhood. The place itself is roughly 3-4 blocks away from the C train which was a piece of cake to get to. There is a 24-hour deli/grocery store located right down the block, a delicious pizzeria also down the street, and an awesome breakfast spot called Peaches that had the BEST grits I have ever eaten, all of which I had the pleasure of partaking in. This neighborhood is very community-driven, very friendly, and easy to fall in love with. I had no difficulty commuting to and from the Bronx, Manhattan, and New York City. Mind you, I was alone, and would at times return to Tami's apartment after 2:00 in the morning via subway. In summation, this was by far the most enjoyable experience I've had in NY & I feel that staying in this lovely place had a lot to do with it. As long as Tami will have me, I will definitely be back next year. Thank you Tami!
Tami saved us when she emailed in response to our standby-list request offering her apartment. Despite it being a last minute request she was very flexible with our check in time and arranged for another person to be there to receive us and explain everything around the house. Plus she left maps and printed info of all what we might need nearby. Very thoughtful!
The apartment is only 5 blocks from a main metro station and within 1-2 blocks there are a couple of nice restaurants, bars, and grocery stores.
We had to leave early and didn't get to meet Tami in person, but if we go back to NY, we might ask to stay with her again :)
tami was great and full of references !
Tami is really nice and accommodating. The flat is really nice and clean as well. However I wasn't keen on the neighbourhood and did not feel comfortable walking around there at night. The few times I caught a cab home the taxi drivers seemed really adamant to drop me to the door (even with the meter off). Whilst I wasn't keen on the area Tammi and her boyfriend were really nice and the flat was great.
Tami and her boyfriend were very nice guests.
We recomend them to all the hotels and houses's owner.
Meeting Tami for the first time was like knowing her for years. She is neat, precise, spunky and has a great attitude. Tami is a go-getter. Didn't wait around to be assisted, but found her way around together with her lovely friends. It was like having family visit. A Great guest, and would love to have her visit us again. Thanks Tami, You are just wonderful.
Great guest, left condo as she founded and even left some new hangers for me!
Tami is one of the coolest and creative ladies I know! She makes beautiful jewelry with lots of heart and soul, and the same goes for her home. I highly recommend her lovely Brooklyn apartment for your stay in New York. It's stylish, clean and has all the amenities for a comfortable place to relax and rest . She's a wonderful hostess, as well a great house guest.
I definitely recommend Tami's place for anyone to rent and enjoy while in Brooklyn! Tami's place is very well taken care of and reflects who she is... a creative, professional and spirited person. I can also vouch for Tami as my sister has known her for many years.
One thing you can count on with Tami is that her home will be clean, peaceful and aesthetically pleasing. She has a beautiful place in a great building. If you're looking to have a nice place to spend some time while in Brooklyn, you'll be very, very pleased renting her home.
