Marie is a thoughtful, helpful and very responsive Airbnb host. Every text and my single phone call was quickly answered. Although her listing is for the entire studio, she made it clear that she and her son would be home for my requested dates and got my agreement before accepting my reservation request.
I was visiting family and was really only there to sleep and shower, so I didn't need to consult Marie about public transport or recommendations, but I'm confident she is a good guide. She is a friendly, gracious host who keeps an extremely neat home.
It's an easy walk to Foster Rd where tantalizing food trucks and Speedboat (amazing espresso drinks) are on opposite sides of 52nd Ave.
A lovely place to stay! Very clean and Marie was so nice! Also in a very convent location. Marie let me know that her and her son would be present but they gave me my space completely.
Marie was a very engaging host. She was upfront about her and her son being there during my stay as she normally rents her entire place out. Marie was very helpful providing public transit info, including the bus I would need to get downtown; places to walk and to run. She knows her area well and enjoys sharing. I enjoyed staying at her place and the chance to meet her and her son. Their place is about 5 miles from downtown. Excellent location.
One of my best Air bnb experiences! Marie was quick and polite whenever contacted. Marie's place had so many little details that made me feel at home. There was no tv, which was different... but I didn't mind with all the exploring to be done in Portland! I was so comfortable there and the place is dead quiet at night, which was great. Only about a 30 minute bus ride downtown for a cheap fare. The coffee shop Rain or Shine was great, be sure to try the cardamom latte. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Portland!
Studio is on a quiet dead end strip of SE Franklin St. just a block off SE Powell. Easy walk to bus and a Zipcar.
Marie checked in multiple times to make sure I was able to get in and things were going okay.
Marie's place was exactly as described - clean and comfy. It was the perfect place to stay for the first few days of my move to Pottland!
The place was as described. Great location for the price!
I found Marie's studio to be just what I needed during my brief stay. Public transit into downtown Portland is close and quick. It's proximity to both Mt. Tabor Park and SE Division provided both a great place for a wonderful afternoon run and an enjoyable evening filled with good food, drinks, and entertainment.
The studio was clean and comfortable and Marie's communication was quick and helpful. If you're looking for a safe, economical, and quiet place to sleep outside of downtown Portland, but within reach, I'd highly recommend Marie's studio!
Great location in an awesome neighborhood and very friendly host! I had a very short visit but glad I picked to stay with Marie!
Marie was a wonderful host- very sweet and warm. I was in Portland for a violin audition, and she noticed that I was having pain in my neck and gave me a few Salonpas. She also gave me an extra blanket when I told her I was cold at night. The space was shared by both Marie and her son; it was very clean and comfortable. She even let me use the kitchen, which I was pleasantly surprised about. The neighborhood is very cool- very close to popular restaurants, shops, bars; there were multiple grocery stores within walking distance, and the place is close to a bus line, the 15. You won't find anything better for the price! If you are a light sleeper, I would just suggest bringing ear plugs because the room is next to the bathroom and the walls are thin.
