I'm still fairly new to AirBnB, but this a perfect fit for my low-maintenance style of traveling. Hotels are fine, but it's great to cook a nice breakfast and walk out into a neighborhood in the morning.
Quick summary of me:
I grew up in Urbana, IL and have lived in Chicago since 2001. Both these cities are near and dear to my heart. I love eating out, concerts, summer fests, museums (EMP Museum in Seattle and City Museum in St. Louis are a couple faves), swimming, and biking. I recently finished my masters degree in educational policy and work for the Illinois State University Chicago Teacher Pipeline. In short, I train students teachers to work in Chicago Public Schools and help them become more resilient, resourceful, and culturally competent educators.
Some of my favorite travel destinations over the years:
Sevilla, Oaxaca, Paris, Toronto, San Juan PR, New Orleans, Seattle, Sonoma
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
How Children Succeed- Paul Tough
This is How You Lose Her- Short Stories by Junot Diaz
Outliers- Malcolm Gladwell
Most importantly, you can't count on me as a considerate, low-impact guest in your home. My mother ran a bed and breakfast for 9 years, so I leave things tidy when I travel. I look forward to exploring your city!
