Our stay at Deven's house was great! Fireplace with plenty of wood to burn, growlers to fill at the growlers stop right down the street, quiet, safe, private neighborhood to take walks, well stocked kitchen to make all of our meals, we couldn't have asked for more. We are already looking forward to returning!
Deven's home is very comfortable and welcoming. The fireplace made the cold evenings more fun and the house was close to many amenities. I would stay here again the next time I came to play in Bend.
I loved my time here! There's a lovely walking trail along a canal behind the house and I felt extremely safe in this quaint neighborhood.
The house is a convenient bike ride to downtown Bend and easy driving access to Mount Bachelor, hiking, biking, skiing and more. I also really liked having access to the well stocked kitchen and the fireplace makes for a very cozy and warm evening. And the extra touches - like spare toiletries - were much appreciated when my friend forgot her toothbrush.
All in all, I loved everything about my stay here and would absolutely recommend it to others.
First of all, I would like to say that this was my first experience with airbnb, and it was not what I expected. I assumed that if we rented an entire space, we were renting a house comparable to vacation rentals that I have booked in the past. That is, a place with personal touches, such as knickknacks, books, photos on display. There were personal hygiene items in the bathroom, dishes left in the drainer, and it just felt like the owners lived there full time. It was very uncomfortable feeling that we were in someone’s personal space, which they just vacated for the weekend so that we could be there.
Specific to this house, there were some improvements that could be made, such as:
House numbers on the house
A front porch light
A list of instructions for cleaning at departure (i.e. what to do with linens, where to put garbage, instructions for dish washer)
More room in the refrigerator. We did not cook any meals in the house, but if we had come with food, planning to prepare meals, we could not have fit everything in the fridge.
Based on our experience, I am pretty sure that I would not choose airbnb again.
Deven's home was lovely -- very quiet and private. There were Bend guide books, a great espresso machine and coffee from a local roaster.
With the big picture windows in the front of the house, it was serene and peaceful.
The house wasn't walking distance to downtown Bend, but it was a quick drive. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again!
It turns out that I knew Deven from the world of yoga when she previously lived in Santa Barbara. She is a delightful, warm-hearted, spirited guest and I enjoyed conversing with her if only for a few minutes. She and her husband are often traveling to teach and work in SB and I would not hesitate to have them back again as guests in my home....
We loved hosting Deven and Dan. They were both super cool, relaxed and self-sufficient. We barely saw them for the first couple of days but when our paths finally did cross we had the nicest chat. They were also considerate and clean and thoughtful; they even left us a block of chocolate for a gift! So sweet.
Deven and her husband Dan are amazing house guests. Really the best people you could ever stay with if you travel through Bend Or, this is the place to stay.
