Despite the fact my boyfriend and I booked the "Double Room Center London near Tube" as advertised in this space, we have never actually seen said place (or Natalja for that matter). Indeed, after she accepted our request to stay a few days earlier, she notified us by email on the morning of our arrival that an "emergency" finally forced her to host us in her other place without asking us whether this was okay. Taken by surprise, we went to the other place which unlike the original one was not on the subway line. In addition to the smallest bathroom I've ever seen, an invasion of mice in our room convinced us to leave a week early as the place became unbearable.
My overall experience probably would have been different if Natalja had host us in the place we booked according to the description. I would not recommend booking with Natalja but if you do please make sure that the booking matches the description.
The apartment was port but, from the pics it looks bigger but is small, the mistress we ever seen and we did find the keys in a drawer out of the door, the rectifiers from Windows that see you as you bare because there are no tents, the only good thing and that the metro is within walking distance, however advise against however is cheaprischiavi in bathroom to take some infection, we had to wipe us all home!
Overall the experience was less than even my lowest expectations. My housemate and I rented the flat for 2 months as we were working in London over the summer. The location is alright, right across from the Tube station, but the neighbourhood isn't that nice. The scaffolding is also not down yet, which we weren't made aware of prior to our arrival. The construction work also recently started up again so expect workmen to be walking across the scaffolding right outside your window by 8am! The interior of the apartment building is also under construction. We smelt fumes from the new floor they laid down outside our flat for days. The apartment itself was very basic. The next occupants will be very happy because we left many of the things we had bought to make it nicer. The beds are very uncomfortable. Expect bedsprings to be digging into your back as you try and sleep. The kitchen and bathroom area were also not very nice. There was food left in the fridge and oil/grease splattered on the walls by the stove, all of which we had to clean once we got there. There was also some sort of black mold growing by the bathtub. The worst part of the stay happened during our last few days in the flat. When I emailed the landlord to ask what to do with our keys on check-out, she mentioned that they were having the windows replaced the next day at 8am, and asked if anyone would be in the flat. I usually left at 7:30 but my housemate left around 9. I asked her which windows they were doing, but she never replied. I found out the next day once I had returned from work that my housemate had almost been late for work because of these construction guys. First of all, they made her help move a bunch of furniture. Then they said they didn't want to be in the flat without someone there with them. When she asked what the landlord had said, they replied that they had been told someone would be here. That someone being my friend or I apparently! She tried calling the landlord but they never picked up. I think the construction guys finally got a hold of them and they said someone would be over soon. Half an hour later, he finally shows up and my housemate can leave. I wonder if I hadn't messaged them the night before, if they would have told us at all about this! Probably not! When we got back, the windows were replaced, which were nice...BUT. There was rubble and dust everywhere, including on all of my things, which I had started to pack. And it had been raining that day, which meant that many of the things that had been sitting on the table, which they had moved right beside the window, were now soaked! We were not impressed. I would not recommend this place to anybody!
The reservation was canceled 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The location is really good. It's very small but fine for three people. I thought the place could be cleaner and the host better at keeping in contact. Overall, it was what I expected.
We stayed there for 3 days.
+ Good location;
- a little bit noisy in the morning;
- the towels were not very clean when we arrived, but they were quickly changed after we claimed
Price matches the quality
Location is what you pay for, apartment is vary basic to put it kindly. Not at private home, but a commerciallly, impersonally run two room apartment.
Ask, if any listed facilities are not working (TV did not) and if scaffolding is down, as these informations were not given to us prior to arrival.
Beds are mediocre to bad, one has very feelable springs in the matress.
That said, place is ok, if you know, that you do not get any kind of luxury beforehand. We did not know about scaffolding with subsequent renovation work on weekdays going on right outside the windows.
Good value for central location.
The flat does not seem to be very well maintained. The location was a farther from the tourist sites than i thought it would be, but that is not fault of the flat. The door lock was very difficult to use. The kitchen did not have enough room for 4 people and the door slammed every time we used it (it is a fire door and cant stay open) which was very annoying. The bathroom was unclean, moldy shower curtain and years of deposit on the fan. Also, would have been nice if there was enough toilet papers for a first day's use so an emergency run to the store could have been avoided. There was something crawling through the walls (rat?) one night that kept us awake. So overall, not the best stay.
I was staying in flat owned by Olga more than three times. It is easy to deal with her. She is responsible, friendly, helpful. Also I enjoyed comfortable accommodation with all essential electrical appliances, good and quiet location. Clean and lovely! Enjoy! Thank you for reading)
