Nice apartment on a verry good location. All what you need is realy close to you and it is on a perfect location if you would like to discover Barcelona. I recommend it.
Small flat in a perfect location! Very simple but good for young people. New renovated bathroom and everything you need is there. But you should know that the street is very noisy and you have paper walls in this apartment - so bring your earplugs! The only thing we would criticize is that it was very dusty in the apartment - could be a bit cleaner... And the fridge and some kitchen utensils look very old and worn out. But we would definitely recommend it to young people who wants to explore the city.
Vlada was lovely, waiting for our arrival. Gave us a lot of information about Barcelona, tourist attractions, places to eat, a map. There was a few steps to get to the flat, which we didn't have trouble with. Clean, big enough for 4 people, good air conditioning unit. Easy to check out, no problems. Would definetly stay ere again.
The apartment is very well located, the host was receptive and helped me with information, although my English is bad, I had no problems in communicating with him, I recommend it.
We spent a wonderfull stay at Vlada's.
We are 4 friends and we wanted to find a comfortable and good located place to stay for a 3days "Sales" week-end in Barcelona.
Arrived late on Wednesday, we followed exactly all the recommendations of Vlada from the airport to the appartment. So easy! It was almost midnight but Vlada was waiting for us already in the flat. It's a upstairs flat (I prefer to precise if you plan to have heavy luggage). Very nice and spacious for 4 persons, because you have two double-bed rooms.
Upon arrival, Vlada gave us the keys and all explanation and good plan around. Next day, we starting to do our shopping, the location of the flat is superb, you are 5 mins walking to Plaza Catalunya and Corte Ingles.
During the night, it's also perfect, we have a bus going to the main places with restaurants, beach.. or we could walk as well. The metro station is 1 min walking as well. The sleep is very comfortable as well, except the noise of the street, but this was not an issue if you leave the windows closed and you put air conditionner... and if you are very tired!! lol like us after the busy days we had!
For us it was an amazing stay for the price!
Vlada is a very nice person.
Brilliant apartment in a brilliant location, exactly what we wanted!
Vlada is a very nice and helpful person and gave us loads of information about Barcelona and places to see and things to do.
Hope to stay there again! Thank you & Take care.
We had a really nice stay at Vlada's apartment. Vlada was very nice, friendly and easy to communicate with! The flat is very central located and felt like a real home to us! On top he was really helpful, and we thank him a lot for everything he did for us to make our stay in Barcelona perfect! I would definitely recommend Vlada!
As other reviewers have said the apartment is in a very central location to all the metro's and is walkable to lots of neighborhoods like el gotic, el born, placa catalunya etc.. but as has been said before Jonqueres is not a quiet street at all so it took a few days to get used to the noise level but it's like that in most cities and I know it's like that in most of New York City so it's not uncommon.
The bathroom was completely redone and looked great except for two things which were that the shower was very small and if you weren't careful you could bump into the shower handle and change the temperature suddenly. If you just showered quickly and stood pretty still it was great. The other thing was that the hot water didn't last very long so again just shower quickly and get out walking the city and you are fine.
The only real issue I had during our stay which affected my flatmate more than myself was that there was construction going on in the flat next door and while Vlada had warned us of this the noise in the morning was pretty annoying and there was a lot of dust coming in under the door from the work and it affected my flatmate who is very allergic to dust. For me it was just kind of unpleasant and I'm sure once the renovations are over no other future guest will have to experience that.
Now for the good parts and there were many. Kitchen was totally usable and the apartment was stocked with all the cookware, glassware and plates you can ever need. Fridge was small but cold and that's all that matters there. Rooms were fine and the beds were ok as well. The wireless was excellent and came in very very handy as I was even able to work a bit (shame on me I know!) between (email hidden).
A good tip to take note of is to find where to turn the light on for the stairwell at the bottom of the stairs on the way up and it's on the flight down from your door in the apartment when you are on your way down. If you don't turn these lights on you will be in pitch black going up and down the stairs to your flat or outside. Just a little thing to figure out and once you do it's fine.
I really did find myself kind of liking the flat more and more as I got used to it's quirks and I'd definitely recommend it as an affordable flat to stay at with a kitchen and two rooms in a very central location. We didn't meet Vlada until the last day but he seemed very gracious and helpful.
The host canceled my reservation 13 days before arrival.
The apartment is in a perfect location. A few blocks from plaza Catalunya. No elevator so it's kinda tough going up with luggage. Restroom is very small. I mean very small. Internet was great to have and worked very well. The area seemed safe to me. Bars and restaraunts in every direction. Overall a great stay.
