I'm originally from Charlottesville, Virginia and my husband and I moved back East after living in Indianapolis for more than 20 years. Moving to New Bern was a very spontaneous decision---we were just passing through this quaint historic town at the confluence of two rivers, stumbled upon the historic district and bought an historic home in need of updating. (Have you seen "The Money Pit?") Though quite small, the town has much to offer for residents and especially for tourists: art galleries, historic sites, great locally-owned restaurants, three vibrant community theatres, wonderful music on summer evenings, a summer Shakespeare festival, jazz... We live in the heart of the historic district here in New Bern and walk everywhere!
My husband and I enjoy theatre, art, music and international travel. We're both big Apple computer fans and my husband has volunteered countless hours filming and editing videos promoting local causes and charities.
I'm very involved with Rotary and most recently returned from a trip to SE Asia for the Rotary International conference with my 86-year-old mother. I took her to some of my favorite places: Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, a boat trip down the Mekong to Luang Prabang in Laos, Halong Bay, and Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, before arriving in Bangkok for the conference, truly the highlight of our trip. My next trip will be Croatia in the fall. I also enjoy adventure travel and have hiked the trail to Machu Picchu. Most recently, I biked through Tuscany...
Back in Indy, I worked for, and consulted for, a variety of nonprofit organizations. Unfortunately, I've yet to find a great job in the nonprofit sector here in New Bern, so I'm presently a real estate agent, which offers me the flexibility to stay involved in the community while meeting client needs.
My husband and I designed the studio apartment over the garage and know guests will enjoy the amenities. We will gladly stock your favorite fruits and munchies--just let us know your preferences. We enjoy entertaining and, if we're having a big event, guests are welcome to join us.
My life motto? Live life well and always be inquisitive and curious.
