This place was less than we expected.
The reservation was for 3 people, but apt was only set up for 2. It took several phone calls to get an extra set of sheets for the pull out sofa and towels.
When we requested an extra blanket, we were told there was none.
When we requested an extra towel, we were given a wet one that we had to dry in front of the fireplace.
There was no dish towel provided to dry dishes or hands.
No hand soap (only an empty bottle of hand soap in the bathroom half filled with water).
The furniture looked like it came from a thrift store and the upholstery was torn and stained.
One of us had an awful allergy attack for the first two nights, and it was only later that we found the cause was a plug-in air freshener behind a living room chair.
Tub faucet had a very strange mechanism for turning on the shower – no instructions were provided and it took us almost 5 minutes to figure it out ourselves
There were no garbage bags for the kitchen garbage can, so we had to keep our food trash in containers in the fridge so that we didn't leave a mess and stink up the place.
-Neighbor was really nice
-location was great
-nice cozy gas fireplace that kept the place nice and warm
Great location, accommodations were comfortable and private. I'll definitely stay here again.
I would NEVER book this apartment again!
It's very old, dark, smells and most furniture are old and dirty (e.g. the couch for sleeping on).
The only good thing is the well accessible location in Castro.
A charming apartment near the hub of the Castro. Very convenient for the Castro Street Fair. You could easily take a break from the hectic activities. My partner and I would stay there again.
A very convenient location (right around the corner from the Castro) and nice size apartment for 2 friends staying as there's a fold out sofa in the living room and separate bedroom with sliding glass doors and curtains so we both had privacy. The apartment was neat and tidy and the kitchen was fine for quick easy meals.
The apartment looks very old. I guess it is normal for this Castro area. Inside is dark and it is not comfortable to be staying inside but the location is very good for exploring Castro. It is especially great if you have small kids because there is a nicest playground across the street.
It is very noisy on weekends and I could not sleep because of the on-going parties outside...
A last minute host emergency in my original rental led to my stay here. Leo was able to quickly get me confirmed and make sure that the place was ready in the time that it took for me to get from SFO to the Castro. I was greeted by his on-site manager, Amir(?), who stays downstairs as well. The place was clean and simple, the location was amazing and the price was great. And Mollie Stone's is across the street if you need to get any staples (in my case, soaps/body wash for the bathroom, paper towels). It's definitely a great option for San Francisco and the Castro. And I appreciate his being so accommodating!
All was as advertised and the location could not be beat. Our flight arrived very late and the people downstairs were very kind about letting us in. The host was very good at answering any questions in an expedient manner and was also available via text for communicating during our flight problems. The only constructive criticism that I have is that the apartment furnishings definitely need some updating and it would have been nice to have a sofa in the living room area.
aleksander and his wife were very nice. I would host them again.
very nice person, great gueast, was nice to have him stay at our place
