I am a teacher of special needs from Bath, in the South West of England. I love to meet people from different cultures and to learn about new ideas: books, films, philosophy, spirituality etc. I speak Spanish, French, Catalan and a little Italian and have travelled quite a lot in Europe and India. I enjoy walking, the peace and the ever-changing beauty of the countryside ; it is important for me to have a quiet space at times. Nevertheless I like to mix and share experiences with others, joining in a meal, a song, a story or a dance together.
I work hard in my job and endeavour to treat my pupils and colleagues with respect and compassion. I find that my most powerful teaching tool is a well-developed sense of humour! I have one beautiful, intelligent teenage daughter who also loves books and languages- particularly French and Proust. She is currently studying her first year of French and Italian at university. I also have a very kind, elderly mother who has Parkinson's Disease. These are a lot of responsibilites, so when the school holidays arrive, travelling is an important way to break the routine and broaden my horizons.
Finally, I am vegetarian, but whilst I try not to harm any creature myself, I am not judgemental about what others choose to eat.
I look forward to meeting you and learning from you during my school holidays
