Work in film and for a start-up. Love to cook, love to travel and spend time seeing art and discovering new neighborhoods. Our family also loves to hike and spend time on the water.

Karen was so accommodating and helpful! She went our her way to make sure we had keys before arrival by stopping by my office to deliver them. She left detailed instructions about her home and its accommodations, which was perfect for 2 new employees who were visiting for orientation. She also checked in twice to make sure our stay was going well.
My friends and I had a wonderful time staying in Karen's apartment. The location was perfect for us. Short walk to the subway which made getting into Manhattan super easy. DUMBO is a great neighborhood with a really nice vibe and excellent views of the city, It had everything we needed within walking distance.
The apartment was everything that we needed. The 4 of us felt quite at home and had plenty of space.
Karen was so easy to communicate with, both in the lead up to our stay and also during our stay. She was very helpful and her recommendations were great.
We hope to come back one day!
Location was great, right under the Brooklyn bridge. Apartment was exactly as described and very comfortable. Karen was a great host and extremely helpful with arranging for key pick-up and responding to our queries! Would strongly recommend this listing.
We loved our stay. The apartment was charming and provided ample room for two couples and a toddler. And you cannot pick a better spot in Dumbo.
Karen was a responsive and accommodating host.
Thanks again, Nate
Everything in Karen's place is just so wonderful. The location is unbeatable - so close to the park (with beautiful view of Manhattan and the two bridges). We enjoyed our stay for two nights. We parked our car in the garage (directly across the apartment) only once. On Sunday night, we were lucky to find street parking space (free until 9 am next morning). Beware that there are many stairs to the third floor. My elderly siblings came from overseas with heavy luggage, so they managed to bring just the needed items into the apartment (keeping the main luggage in the car). Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you, Karen!
Fantastic location close to three subway lines, one of which goes direct to JFK. Brilliant being able to walk to Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge....what a great way to approach the city! And one of our best experiences was walking through Brooklyn Heights above the Expressway and back along the Brooklyn Bridge Park Greenway after Smorgasbord on the Sunday. Good choice of cafes and restaurants on the doorstep of the apptmnt, and Karen was very helpful in leaving advice re her favourite ones. Right opposite superb bookshop called Powerhouse Arena. Wish we could have stayed longer. One week didn't scratch the surface!
We absolutely loved Karen's apartment! The airy living room was lovely and a treat to have a big corner window and a back deck to actually see and be outside. DUMBO is a fantastic neighborhood and we had lots of fun exploring Karen's restaurant and cafe recommendations. We were traveling with our 2 young children and spent a lot of time at the playground at the end of the street and down by the waterfront, this was fabulous and really made the week for us all. The subway was also an easy walk for kids. We had family staying in Soho during our stay and it was very easy to access that area and the rest of Manhattan. Karen is very communicative and prompt to respond to any queries. Highly recommended apartment!
Great location in Dumbo Brooklyn Close to the Brooklyn Bridge and the quay with an amazing view of Manhattan. The apartment was well planned. We missed closet space though, had to live out of our suitcases.
I hosted Karen's son Ian, who was a very friendly and communicative young man, open to other cultures and eager to explore it as well. Though first time to China, he adapted to it fairly fast and well. I am also happy to see that he organized his trip around his passion and major: dance/drama performance with an enlightening 3-week workshop at Chinese opera in Shanghai. He is not that common touristy type, but rather tried to live as a local and mix with the local young people of the same interest.
What a wonderful guest! It was such a pleasure to have Karen and her group stay at my guest house. They even cleaned the house before leaving!!! I can't recommend Karen more highly. Thank you for staying with me and I hope to see you again soon.
Karen is a great guest! Very nice and easy to communicate with! I would highly recommend her to anyone on Airbnb!
