We had an amazing stay at Drew's Cottage! It was beautiful, modern, quiet, and serene! The pictures posted didn't do it justice! The weather was too cold to enjoy the water, but it looked absolutely gorgeous! Not even a five minute drive from the cottage there are restaurants, convenience stores, Tim Hortons and more-- so it was really great to be able to touch back with reality whenever we needed to grab something. We just had the most amazing time ever! Although we didn't get a chance to meet/speak to Drew or his wife, they were both very detailed and helpful with their directions and lists. We hope to stay again soon!
The setting of this log cabin cottage is simply out of this world. After a few days in Toronto, we wanted to feel like we escaped to the wilderness and this was perfection. We couldn't have wished for better.
The views are unbelievable - on both sides of the cabin, it's only 5 or 6 metres to the lake shore.
It's very well equipped and Drew was fantastically responsive to emails.
It was so easy to wile away the days, swimming in the lake, lounging around, kayaking at sunset and spending evenings by the fire looking at the stars and listening to the waves on the shore and the wind through the trees.
Utterly idillic. We hope to return again soon! Thank you Drew.
We had an awesome time at Drew's cottage. The views (and sunsets) from both sides of the point are spectacular and the cottage is very spacious and well-equipped; we particularly loved eating in the big screen porch. The rocky water access was a bit of pain (water shoes) are a must) but having the sandy beach at Mara Provincial Park and the municipal beach less than five minutes away was ideal as we could alternate between dock days and beach days. We'll definitely return to this little hideaway next year!
Thanks Drew, for making our stay on Lake Simcoe the perfect northern experience. We loved the east/west view showing us both the sunrise ( I didn't see but my daughter did) and sunsets. They were spectacular. We loved how spacious all rooms were and how many people your place comfortably accommodates. Your place was accurately described, and you always responded to me quickly. Our dogs loved the spot as well. We enjoyed our little outings to downtown and the Casino. Everything was so close. I will definitely keep your place in mind for a future visit.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at Drew's cottage. Cottage was very large and the property was amazing. Only down side is very shallow water. Not ideal for avid swimmers.
Very beautiful property. Private. Cottage is also very nice - well appointed, lots of natural light and spacious. We had six adults and three babies and never felt crowded. Very easy to get to from Toronto. The major drawback is the swimming. The rocky bottom means slow and careful wading - difficult for adults and completely impossible for small children. Luckily there is a very nice beach at the provincial park about a 20 minute walk / 10 minute kayak ride away.
The location and cottage exceeded my expectations. When my friends and myself arrived from Toronto we were immediately blown away by our surroundings. The cottage is surrounded on three sides by the lake being right on the tip of a peninsula. There is a large deck overlooking the east side of the lake that makes it a perfect spot to watch the sunrise. The west side is ideal for sitting around with your friends and family and watching the sun set as it changes the colour of the lake. The cottage itself was rustic yet spacious and has all the amenities you need, perfect.
Our host was wonderful and provided all the information we needed about the location including were to go in town and answered all my questions. We didn't have to worry about anything, just have a relaxing and fun weekend. Everything you need is only 10 or 15 minutes away and yet the cottage is very private and provides a nice getaway. We will definitely be going back here next summer.
We had a wonderful trip to Drew's cottage again this year. The bathroom has been renovated and the bunkie accommodated our guests so well. It's been three years of renting the cottage and working with Drew, and every year gets better. This truly is a wonderful getaway find!
Fantastic getaway, private, serene, a real gem .... just what we needed. Weather was fantastic, we were outside from 8am to past midnight every day. The firepit and the docks on both sides (sunrise and sunsets) was a real bonus. The cottage was a real cottage! Very well equipped, comfortable. We look forward to a next visit!
Sorting out the details took a little time when making this reservation through airbnb.
The cottage is in a lovely location at the end of the peninsula and the main living area has a gorgeous outlook. The kitchen is well equipped. We enjoyed the peace and solitude.
