The host canceled my reservation 20 days before arrival.
We really enjoyed the time we spent here! The house is big and bright, the kitchen is great for cooks and the woodstove was cozy. It's nestled among beautiful trees and hills and is a great place to go if you just want to get away and relax. Although it's close, you still have to drive a bit to the coast if you want to spend your time on the beach.
Overall, really lovely. And the goats were great fun to be around.
This was a great find - we really enjoyed the accommodation - so spacious, clean and with all necessary conveniences (not to mention the dried pears). The area is gorgeous - quite remote, and in the hills, with lot's of exploring of the Russian River Valley, the Coast, etc within a short drive. And exploring the 80 acre farm on foot is really calming and relaxing.
Tim & Susie's were incredibly gracious hosts and are a a lot of fun - and we even had the pleasure of meeting their friends and neighbors at an Easter brunch.
All in all a great and much-too-short stay.
This was a wonderful, peaceful getaway in a beautiful, natural setting...aside from the violent wind storm one night. Unfortunately, Tim couldn't control the crazy weather! :-) Even though I was holed up most of the time due to the rain, the house was very comfortable to curl up on the couch and read, write, etc. Nice high ceilings, very spacious - plenty of room to do a little yoga, beautiful views, well kept, and very gracious hosts. Got out for a couple of short walks and was kept company by one very friendly, "talkative" cat. The plum jam, dried pears and eggs were a lovely offering. I'd second what some others have said about the location being rather remote. I was glad to know to bring all my food/supplies. I'd highly recommend this home.
We really enjoyed our time with Tim and Susie and Buster- their wonderful dog and two very friendly cats. All sorts of flowers were blooming when we were there in February- daffodils, magnolias, forsysthia- the olives were ready to be picked. Flowering apple and pear trees lined their road.
The house was well warmed by their wood- burning stove, the bed was wonderfully comfortable. It actually snowed a bit while we were there and the hills were transformed for a few hours.
It is well worth the trip. Mary
What a lovely place and wonderful hosts! Tim and family were very welcoming and attentive, yet gave me lots of privacy to do my own thing. I spent three nights at the house, and it felt like a month-long vacation. The property is beautiful: gorgeous views of the mountains, orchards, animals and flowers everywhere. This is THE place to get away from it all and relax to the sounds of the birds, the views and peacefulness of the countryside.
We really enjoyed our short weekend stay in this house out in the country. The house is beautifully finished and comfortable (if a bit sparsely furnished with only the bare necessities). We arrived late on Friday night and had a fire going, which was wonderful. I loved all the windows, with bright sunlight and views of the hills and farm. It's a nice drive to get there, and a nice drive to walks and parks on the coast. We would definitely return!
What a wonderful time at this cozy big cabin in the middle of the woods. I'm glad we had good directions to find this place down the big long dirt road, but once we got there we didn't want to leave. Holed up in the woods, we got to play with goats, chickens, and they even leant us their cas and dog!
We felt so welcomed, and had tons of privacy. It was a great place for a good start to the new year.
This is a fantastic place! Amazingly beautiful and peaceful, and very affordable too. Tons of windows, lots of light, beautiful views from everywhere in the cabin. Lots of space - I went with a friend and Tim was kind enough to place an extra mattress in the alcove on the main floor (there is also a separate bedroom upstairs.) The woodstove was fantastically efficient. Many friendly cats. Sweet goats. Beautiful places to walk in every direction. Tim was also generous with the eggs, apples and other produce on the farm. The cabin's kitchen was minimally supplied, but Tim allowed us to borrow whatever we needed from his own kitchen. We hated to leave! It's true though, as the previous reviewer said, that the place is a bit remote. It's a good hour from Guerneville, 40 minutes? from Jenner, winding roads. So definitely bring everything you need with you, and plan on holing up for your time there (it's a perfect place for a writing retreat.) Thanks so much, Tim!
I highly reccommend this listing! Tim is a great host and the property/house is really beautiful. The only downside is that it is a trek getting out there, but Tim gave us very detailed directions and we never got lost. Just make sure to bring all the food and supplies that you need because you most likely will not want to make the drive out to their property over and over. Over all, a really great stay and if you are looking for some peace and quiet - this is the place to go!
