Work with passion - and kindness. I want you to enjoy all that Alpine (or Austin:) has to offer while experiencing them in the most comfortable way possible!
We had a great time! Arrangements were super-simple and cordial. The space is clean, funky, light, high ceilings, welcoming, and everything works. Liz has thought through everything you might need. The space is not insulated, so if you are in for a bout of cold weather, you'll want a can-do attitude, there are several space heaters. The studio is right next to frequented train tracks, so if you are sensitive to train noise, there are ear plugs. Personally, I found the sound of passing trains comforting. It is a tiny little WC, so it helps to be on the smaller size. Beds are a bit funky if you have a sensitive back. This, too, could be solved by resituating the multiple layers of memory foam on the spacious floor. You can walk through all of town from the studio, walk to the movies. You're bound to enjoy this very 'Alpine' accommodation.
My husband, two dogs, and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at the Alpine Studio and would definitely recommend it to others. The studio itself is very charming, and Liz has outfitted it so that's it's a great "home-away-from-home." The location is great too, on the same block as several shops, restaurants and the farmer's market. It's also within a block or two of the Holland Hotel, Reata Restaurant, the movie theater, galleries and bakeries. Liz did a great job of offering us suggestions of what to do prior to our arrival and even greeted us upon our arrival with a freshly made tamale :). We definitely recommend the Alpine Studio and the town itself!
Response from Liz:
U guys r the best!
Thank you, Liz! We loved staying at your little art house on our weekend get away!!
This house is a clean, cozy, unique little place full of art and charm. The beds are very comfortable and there were some nice little amenities around. I highly recommend checking out the Raspa Co on the corner- they lady out back at the little taco trailer is very sweet and makes awesome tacos. If your gluten free they have corn tortillas. I also loved the Brown Dog Garden next door. Your right downtown so you can walk/ride a bike everywhere. I also recommend checking out the Reata restaurant, yummmmmy!
Thanks again, Liz!
It was a great location in a really cool space! We enjoyed our stay very much!
Liz was the perfect AirBNB hostess. She was available on the phone whenever we needed her. She was super flexible with us when our plans changed due to inclement weather, and really helped us out of a jam. The studio is cute and quirky and a great jumping off point for visiting the area. It is right in downtown Alpine and it was lovely to be able to walk to restaurants, shops, and bars.
Our only complaint was the noise of the train, and Liz couldn't have done anything about that. Alpine is a railroad town, and that train is loud and runs about 500 feet from the studio several times per night and many times during the day. It's not the rumbling of the tracks, it is the unbelievably loud horn that is the kicker. We were told that the town is implementing the crossing technology needed to make Alpine a horn-free town, but it isn't there yet. It wasn't possible for us to sleep through the night. Liz provides earplugs though, and did everything possible to make us comfortable during the stay.
Thanks so much, Liz!
The apartment is spacious and super clean and absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend, dog, and I stayed here for two nights and had a very good experience with Liz. A couple things you should know -- the train runs right by the apartment and woke us up multiple times both nights we were there. Also, the wifi is a city-run connection. We had no problems getting on late at night, but it was slow during the day. Otherwise, excellent experience.
The reservation was canceled 5 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
To be honest, it was hard to leave this place. Alpine itself is a pretty cute town, and getting to stay in the heart of it, so to speak, was a great experience.
The studio is much bigger than it looks in the photos, it's quiet, clean, and Liz has left all sorts of little amenities that we weren't expecting. Forgot soap? There's a ton available in the bathroom. Towels? A whole rack of them to choose from. There's even a little stove top, microwave, and toaster oven so you can actually cook on the road! The neighbor next door filled us in on the history of the studio as well and had great things to say about the Sibleys. Not to mention it's also next to a Mexican restaurant and an amazing raspa place. It was hard just to leave the street.
If you're visiting Marfa or Alpine, don't hesitate to book this spot, it's the best.
Liz's Alpine Studio is a great place for anyone looking to stay in the Alpine/Marfa area. Spacious, quiet, and just a few hundred feet from main street. The walls are decorated with an assortment of southwestern art. All the rooms were very clean. Thanks again.
The alpine studio was great! Located on the cutest street in town and the perfect place to rest our heads on a little west texas tour. Liz was fantastic about responding to questions in a timely manor and communicating throughout our whole stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling through the area. In fact, I already have!
Delightful!! Thanks so much for all the great feedback and for being such a fun guest! I loved a lot of your zany comments.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the area and restaurants around the block. Please come back any time!
Liz and her daughter Rachelle were a delight to host. As a fellow AirBnb host, she knew how to take care of things. They were both friendly, respectful and clean. I had so much fun chatting with both of them. Too bad it was a short stay, but nevertheless, very enjoyable. Definitely recommendable!
Liz and her family were excellent guests. Easy to communicate with and left my place looking great. Thanks so much:)
Liz was a great guest! She communicated well, and I hope she had a great time in Galveston.
I'm not saying that staying with Rachel will definitely transform your life for the better. I'm just saying that it's more likely than with anyone else I know.
