Xanthe is a very kind and gracious host. The flat is very nice, the hood room roomy and comfortable, and the location is excellent - close to the city centre and George Square (excellent for people who want to go to the Festival). Rebus fans may be interested to know that St Leonard's Police station is next door. If you're better organised than me (or rise earlier than me) you'll even be able to enjoy breakfast, which is not something I expected.
Very lovely host! Although I checked-in very late (after midnight) it was no problem. I got a breakfast (to my surprise) every day and had nice talks. She also showed me the city and recommended what to do.
The room was okay - all in a good condition but not brand new.
Xanthe is amazing! Super welcoming and a big help for figuring out how to spend your visit. The room is beautiful and clean, and located close to all of the main attractions.
Was gracious to let me extend a day when needed. Great host, location and flat. Thanks again.
Xanthe is a gracious host. Large 3br flat that is nicely adorned. Great stay.
Good location, very clean, nice landlady- very warm-hearted. Best choice for this B&B.
My mother and I spent the night at Xanthe's wonderful apartment in Edinburgh on Easter weekend. I cannot possibly say enough positive things about our visit with Xanthe; getting to know her was one of the high points of our stay.
It was our first time using AirBnB, so I was a little nervous when we first met. Xanthe surprised us with chocolate Easter eggs, and then offered to show us around Edinburgh. She introduced us to parts of Edinburgh off the typical tourist trails, and I left feeling as if I had seen truer sides of the city than what's pictured in the average guidebook.
Sadly, we only had one day in Edinburgh, but I cannot think of a better host for our limited stay. Xanthe is an incredibly interesting and welcoming person, and I would highly recommend her as a host. She is knowledgeable not only about Edinburgh, but also about a wide variety of other subjects. The apartment is centrally located and very comfortable and welcoming. It is the prime example of the benefits of AirBnB over an impersonal hotel environment.
The reservation was canceled 20 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Excellent value for money and suited my purposes perfectly as somewhere to lay my head. It is well located and well maintained. Xanthe was very welcoming and even ironed a shirt for me as I was late for a wedding. Might not be quite so suitable for a longer stay as it is very much a B&B room in her flat.
I came to Edinburgh to see some friends for a few days and in between (website hidden) had the pleasure of staying at Xanthe's flat. It's simply beautiful and in a perfect location. No complaints at all. I wish all AirBnB places were like hers!
