Oh Carline, you are a dear dear girl to leave me such a good review. Most sweet. I would love to see you again if you return. Even if you don't stay, do shout me and we can go out and get (website hidden) Hope the studying is okay back home XXX
Hi Pierre, this is the first bad review I've ever had - I'd like to respond point by point if I may, since I am most serious about the comfort of my guests and have been sad to find your were unhappy. Firstly, I'm sorry you found it expensive for what it has to offer. There is a traditional style B and B on my road which is double the price (and also has a shared bathroom for guests). There is a wash basin in the room here and a kitchen, living room and balcony for your use. I agree, accommodation in London is expensive, especially short term/nightly - I believe my price is fair in light of this. Secondly, I don't wish to put locks on the doors because it's my home and I have had people to stay based on trust for seven years without any problems. However, the bathroom does and always has had has a brass bolt on the door, so I am confused by this point. Thirdly, I apologise profusely that we ran out of loo roll. I know exactly when that happened because my flat mate popped out to get some -but I did leave before she returned and should have waited to check. This was bad luck. It happens, and I'm very sorry. Finally, I'm rather devastated to hear that you found the flat 'quite dirty'. What is more, I find this comment slightly strange and I don't know how to respond. In the past I have been accused of being an obsessive cleaner. I can only say that I will try harder, but that I do clean constantly - the marble bathroom tiles do shine already! It's not an Ikea style flat, it's a 1920s built apartment with antiques, musical instruments and a log fire - as you can see in the photographs. There we are, you can't please everyone. Please note, I light candles in the rooms for my guests (as I did with yours) and create the flat with much warmth and care. The room is exquisite and it didn't raise a smile when you entered - before you'd seen the rest of the flat. Perhaps your guest would be better suited to a hotel in the future, or a traditional B and B, since she also asked about breakfast when the listing clearly states that it's a shared flat with a shared kitchen. However, I'm genuinely sorry you were unsatisfied and I am suitably upset by your review. Very best wishes, Bethia.
