Nicole was a great host, very accommodating in every way! We even extended our stay and she helped us sort everything out with AirBnB. The neighborhood is so great, we never even left! Just enjoyed the many markets, restaurants and bars right nearby all weekend. Would definitely stay here again!
Staying in Nicole's apartment was perfect room for our group of 3; 1 on the pull out couch, and 2 in the bedroom. The location is perfect for those who plan to travel to all areas of NYC, as it's 1 block from the L Train, which will take you West deeper into Manhattan or East to Brooklyn. Not to mention the area immediately surrounding the apartment is lively and there's lots to do. Everything in the apartment was clean and comfortable. My favorite part of the apartment was how quiet it was in the morning. After staying out until the wee hours, it was nice not to be awakened at 8:00am by street noise. Nicole was super nice and was quick to respond the couple of times we contacted her with questions during the stay. She also gives great details to best enjoy the apartment and the area. I'd definitely stay here again. Thank you, Nicole!
Nicole's charming apartment was the perfect place for a weekend getaway in NYC. It was clean, comfy, and in a central location. Nicole, herself, was a wonderful host and very accommodating. It perfectly fit our group of four and we're so glad to have stayed here. Thanks Nicole!
Nicole was a great host - very clear instructions in email and the apartment was clean and tidy. The flexible check out time was very helpful, as our flight left late in the evening. The apartment was very quiet and is walking distance from many excellent restaurants in East Village. The east river is good for running along. We did not have problems with the door -- future guests should note that the door has a small switch below the latch in door (you need to look at the door edge-on to see it). If you push the switch, the door handle can turn the latch easily, and you can use the key to unlock/lock the door with no troubles. If the switch is the wrong way, the door handle won't open the latch door so it will take longer to get in using the key (you can still get in - just takes more maneuvering). So just make sure the switch is the right way, and getting in/out of the apartment will be easy. Have fun in New York! We did!!!
Nicole was a wonderful host and very friendly and accomodating! We had a great stay in her very cozy apartment and would come back and stay again without question. The neighborhood is great too - we had no issues finding food and drinks and spent much of our time walking around.
Also, we had zero issues with the door.
Thanks again Nicole!
Nice apt in great location. Thanks
We had a very nice time at Nicole's place. It was a very lovely apartment, we were able to park on the street for the time we were there for free and felt safe leaving our car, it's a short walk from the subway, and many local eateries. We read the review about the door sticking, no big deal. Nicole was a wonderful hostess with great communication.
The property was exactly as specified and the pictures are pretty much exactly what you should expect--lovely.
Everything was in excellent, working condition. I saw a reviewer complaining about the door, but Nicole's instructions were perfect and I hardly noticed it afterwards.
Towel service = awesome
Location = awesome. It's really close to NYU and everything from the apt is accessible by cab (obv) and subway. It's also literally one block away from Artichoke Pizza and Momofuku Milk Bar.
I would be very careful about dealing with Nicole as a host. Although her apartment is cute and is in the East Village, her apartment is in an old building and as a result her door is VERY difficult to open and close. Nicole is clearly aware of this as, only after I had paid the full amount for her apartment and the airbnb service fee, she sent me an email saying that I would have a problem with her door and left me instructions to open this. Note that this is likely to happen to you if you rent her apartment.
In addition to that, her toilet takes 30 minutes to an hour to fill up, so I had to manually fill it up when I needed to use it. This again was not mentioned anywhere by Nicole, not even after paying for the apartment.
Nicole told me that she would leave the keys in a lockbox inside her apartment. Instead, when I arrived there was no lockbox outside and I buzzed the door. Nicole said she was sick from work that day and was in the apartment, but still took 15 minutes to let me in.
I almost filed a complaint about her apartment because the door was so difficult to open and close but then decided to cancel the complaint. Nicole got very angry about this and as a result wrote a bad review for me. I left her apartment in a great condition, and dealt with the door and the toilet for 3 nights, and she still left an inaccurate review because she was angry that I complained about the door.
In addition to this, Nicole called my boyfriend and myself on a Saturday morning at 10 am about a noise complaint in the building, even though I was still sleeping at that time. We told her that it definitely wasn't us, and in her review of me she put that I caused a noise complaint in her building!!!!
Definitely be careful of choosing Nicole as a host.
Nicole's in-laws were really nice! Clean, considerate, and great to talk to
Nicole was a wonderful guest. I think my apartment was actually cleaner after her stay. I couldn't even tell anyone had stayed in the apartment while I was out of town. I'd be happy to have her stay next time she needs a place in NY!
