We took a year off to volunteer in Tonga from March 2013... But now we are back!
my husband Gordon and I have lived in Orange for over 20 years. We enjoy travelling and have been active members of the hospitality club and servas so enjoy meeting people!
I used to be an art teacher but now work within the community engagement space that includes a rural women's program run through the department of primary industries.
It is the most wonderful job which is probably why I have stayed for over 20 years!
Gordon, my husband used to be a chef but reclaimed his life 9 years ago and now works for a federal government department.
Our house is within walking distance of town and there is a cafe 5 doors up the street.
We only have one bathroom but a second toilet.
The spare 'guest' room is very comfortable with a double bed with electric blanket for those snowy evenings we sometimes get and there are books on the shelf if you get the urge.
Our street is very quiet (no cost parking or you can park in our driveway) and we have a lovely backyard and outdoor sitting area.
We have a couple of living areas and I do enjoy a game of scrabble with anyone willing to play with me!
We spent a month volunteering in Peru in 2009 and after our year in Tonga hope to do more of this in the future.
We are both in our early 50s enjoy art and the food/wine delights of the wonderful Orange region.
We hope to have you as our guest sometime soon!
Our house has central heating and a fire so warm and snug. We can recommend the best cafes and restaurants for great regional produce and coffee among the many available in and around town... And of course the wonderful wines you can taste if that is your interest! The shopping is pretty good here too and our regional gallery has great exhibitions.
