Welcome, I'm Gabriella. I have a passion for Restoring Historic Home's up and down the West Coast. I moved to Whidbey Island 6 years ago, I hadn't planned to stay and fell and love with it.

What a perfect weekend getaway! The private suite is cozy and comfortable - and the view over Penn Cove is stunning!
While we didn't have a chance to meet Gabriella and her son Chris, they made sure we had everything we needed and even called to ask if we had any other wishes. There was even a bottle of wine waiting for us...
Coupeville is a great place to spend a relaxing weekend, and this is the ideal place to sleep!
Impulse decision (2 of us) to visit Port Townsend this past weekend, so needed a one-night space. First time using airbnb, (love the site!) This incredible space came up and it looked so enchanting, I just booked it. Then, while trading emails, our hostess, Gabriella, noticed I kept referring to PT, so she politely asked if I knew her house was on Whidbey Island! Long story short, no I wasn't paying close enough attention, but determined since it was only for one night, I was going to go ahead and stay at her place and visit PT sort of before/after ferry trips (which we did!) First of all, I am just imagining how cool this place would be to spend more than one night, in the summer! It was 'that great' in mid-February, so it could only be fantastic. The Sea Captain private room would probably be my choice again, as I like the private bathroom and entrance, but I imagine the 'B&B' experience would also be wonderful; the inside of the house is quite lovely! Gabriella was away at the time of our stay, so we missed the much-talked-about coffee experience (darn!) and in fact she'd opted out of any other bookings but ours since she wouldn't be there. As it turned out, her son was a most capable and super friendly host, and in fact we feel we've made a new friend! He gave us a tour of the house and even shared his pizza with us, so we shared our bottle of wine. The cabin is great; unexpected cable TV/DVD combo w/a great assortment of DVDs included; microwave, refrigerator, private bath w/shower. And OUTside, I could see a guitar-circle around the firepit, coffee (or better yet, single malt!) and a good book in the unique gazebo or stone-walled patio, both overlooking the water. There's an orchard, and chickens! Like I said, can't wait to hang out there during the summer. Short walk into town; short drive to fabulous crashing waves, short drive to ferry; Coupeville is absolutely great , and this little private room is the best. Hi Gabriella! Hi Chris!
Wonderful historic NW home. Host, Gabriella, is extremely warm and inviting, and intersted to share details of her home, which she has renovated herself! The room was clean and warm, with a great steam shower (a bonus suprise). And, yes, those famous lattes that Gabriella makes really do live up to their reputation. The room itself is small, and not a lot of space for sitting comfortably, but that's more than made up for by the crazy beautiful view of Penn Cove right out the front window/door. I must have missed on the Airbnb site that Breakfast was not included in the rental, so I was suprised it was not. Probably just my own oversite, but just know that it isn't. There are great places to eat within walking distance of the house. We had a very relaxing time and definitely plan to come back! Many thanks for a wonderful weekend!
This private suite was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Cozy, tucked away, quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay very much and can't wait to come back!
Gabriella is a wonderful and accommodating host. We were there for 5 nights in the room that is in the main floor of the Sea Captains B&B (not the private suite) and found it very comfortable. Gabriella provided us with lots of information about Coupeville and Whidbey Island which we found very useful and informative. The house is very comfortable, with great views of Penn Cove and is easy walking distance to all of the restaurants and shops in old town portion of Coupeville. We will definitely be back.
We were very lucky to find this place. The best view inside and out. Thanks Gabriella for sharing your lovely place with us and especially the great coffee.
A historic home, masterfully restored by Gabriella. She is a gracious
and friendly hostess, sharing stories of her home and furnishings.
Her morning latte is the best ever.
We enjoyed our stay and plan to return.
This is definetely 5 Stars!
Other guests have captured (in their reviews) what it's like to stay with Gabriella in her historic captain's home. Ditto the experience for us. Gabriella is so gracious and fun to be with! She has a big heart! And you really have to experience this place for yourself ~ words alone can't do it justice. We enjoyed everything ~ the welcoming glass of wine, visiting on the sunny terrace with its great view of the cove, our dinner at Christopher's (recommended by Gabriella), our walk back under starry skies, and a good night's sleep before we were on our way in the morning. If you're on Whidbey island, this is the place to stay!
I would 100% recommend staying with Gabriella! Before we had even met, she had offered to make a dinner reservation at a restaurant in town for us and recommended some of the most popular places. Not only was the house and property full of character, history, and charm, but Gabriella was a truly gracious hostess. We felt right at home. The room we stayed boasts an impressive library and it gave us plenty to delve into. Plus, the restaurants in Coupeville offer some of the most delicious food we've ever enjoyed. Believe me when I say you will not be disappointed!
My wife and I stayed here for two wonderful nights and would definitely come back again. Gabriella was a warm and delightful host. She had wine and beer waiting for us when we arrived! The house itself is filled to the brim with charm and was lovingly restored by Gabriella herself. It felt a little like staying at a house that Architectural Digest would highlight. The view of Penn Cove from the terrace patio is just beautiful! Our room was in the main house and had a cozy cabin-feel to it. The house is located just blocks from the main historic strip of Coupeville so the restaurants and shops are just a few minutes away by foot. The highlight of our stay was our chats with Gabriella about her amazing life experiences. The next time we come, we'll probably try the room downstairs with the private entrance and views of the Cove.
Great guest!!! 5 stars. Gabriella was very clean, kind and respectful. Perfect Airbnb guest and all around lovely person :)
We adore Gabriella! Being fairly new to Coupeville she has been so kind to us and welcomed us wtih open arms. She is the perfect host, considering every last detail. She gives Martha Stewart a run for her money. Her home and gardens are gorgeous with some of the best views on the island. Nothing beats a drink on her patio watching the sunset.
