My name is Philip Seitz, and I am an American historian and museum curator, currently at home writing a book about slavery and the things we're hesitant to talk about that might bring healing to both blacks and whites. (See my (website hidden) profile for more professional information and references.) My wife Debby works for WXPN, one of Philadelphia's most interesting radio stations (you can listen to (email hidden)), and is one of the warmest people I've ever met. We have a delightful thirteen year old son (shy sometimes) who's learning to play guitar and travels the streets of Philadelphia with me looking for new and unusual hoagies and sandwiches--one of our city's specialties. My world-travelling mother lives around the corner, Debby's brother down the street, and her parents across town. It's that kind of place--good to live, but nice to get out of once in a while.
