The apartment is exactly as described - lots of space and and pretty funky. The location is Incredible - I love Newtown. Cheryl was great, flexible, and very helpful. I would stay again.
accurate description. little bit weird as mentioned in other comments. nothing wrong with the place though and good communication.
The property location was perfect, close to everything and a small park for the dog to escape to. Big and eclectic unit whole experience made us feel like we were back at Uni. Host was very helpful.
Cheryl is a great host! She shares all the necessary information a week before my stay, including transportation ,rest. ,etc. Making my stay as easy as possible.
The apartment is same as description , comfortable ,clean and convenience. I recommend it and do stay with Cheryl apartment again if visiting Sydney in the coming future.
We had a wonderful experience staying in Newtown.
Cheryl was a fantastic host. Communication was always prompt and very pleasant. Everything was easy to follow.
Our apartment was clean, comfortable and delightful. We couldn't fault the room.
It was so close to all sorts of entertainment and restaurants.
We'll certainly be booking with Cheryl again!
Thank you so much for everything!
Cheryl was just lovely – friendly, helpful and informative, and I was made to feel very welcome! I just love this cute apartment right behind the main drag of Newtown, King St. Only a hop, skip and a jump away from the pulsing heart of Newtown! And boy, did I paint Newtown red that night!!!
The apartment had everything I needed, and was clean and cute. It was really nice to sleep up in the loft section and the bed was comfortable with nice sheets as well. I could make a much needed strong coffee in the morning, but I didn’t use the fridge as there was so much great food available at all hours on King St. I didn’t need my car at all, and was so happy to get the onsite parking which is a real bonus in Newtown as its sooo hard to find parking there.
And lovely Cheryl let me do a very late checkout free as the next people weren’t coming in until late at night… So thanks for that, I needed a big sleep in!!! I had a real ball, and can’t recommend this apartment and Cheryl highly enough…
Cheryl was very friendly, accommodating and easy to communicate with. The quality and standard of accommodation however, was very disappointing and certainly did not reflect the price charged.
The foyer was dirty, messy and stank and had rubbish.
The apartment was clean and tidy, however it was quite uncomfortable and really badly decorated. There were creepy stuffed toys on the bed and littered throughout the apartment. Certainly not the kind of decor you would expect in an adult space or Newtown.
The double bed was tiny and really uncomfortable, you could feel all the springs. There is no way it would comfortably fit two adults, especially if either is over 6ft tall. My partner is and had to sleep on the couch.
There was no blinds or adequate curtains to block out the street light that sits out the front window and lights up the whole apartment. We had to put towels over the window to try and make it dark.
This property is grossly overpriced for the quality. It cost us close to $500 for 2 nights and I feel really ripped off.
We moved to another property in Newtown after this one tat was just as close to King st, gave us parking permits, was a whole house, with courtyard, king size bed, everything you could possibly need, plus wine and beer for half the price!! The only thing in the fridge of Druids was a dirty old jar of used tomato paste.
Until this property gets a facelift or drastically reduces the prie to reflect the very average quality, I would highly advise booking something else.
The host canceled this reservation 11 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Hidden treasure is an ideal spot for anyone wanting to experience the culture of Newtown. Its close proximity to shops, cafes, bars and public transport makes it a perfect spot for those travelling without a car. The room itself has all the necessities and is a pleasant place to stay. Highly recommended!
We went to Newtown to experience the neighbourhood and explore Sydney with friends. The location on Wilson Street was perfect.
We bought some Opal cards for the trains, buses and ferries and it was only a short walk to the MacDonaldtown or Newtown station. One day we even walked back to the house from Redfern, which gave us a real feel for the area. The locals were really friendly and were always happy to help by sharing their local knowledge.
As the Airbnb description says "the building is old and not 5 star"and it suffers from a lack of flow through ventilation as someone else said in their review. The living area is spacious and light and the deck was a good spot to sit in the fresh air. We were out and about most of the time and just went back there to sleep so I can't comment on the kitchen. The shower had plenty of hot water for the four of us and the washing machine and clothesline were handy for the mid stay load of washing. I'd like thank Cheryl for her excellent communication. It was very good advice to take a taxi from the airport and the tips were very good re restaurants etc.
