Rich is a woodworker and the interior of his place shows. A lot of it is beautifully redone. The beds are comfortable and the whole house is wired to the stereo - very cool.
Plus Rich gives you the low down on the neighborhood restaurants- makes you feel like a local right off the bat.
My friends and I stayed here in late January and it was perfect. Very clean and spacious. Rich and his wife, Sara, were so nice and very helpful. I would happily stay here again and recommend this place to anyone. One note to be aware of, there are some very steep stairs to get the the lower level of bedrooms. All in all, we could not have been happier with this rental. Thank you!!!
Wonderful place - Rich and Sara made us feel at home. Easy and flexible check in, lovely home with great linens, generous supply if towels and dishes, comfy seating and beds, gorgeous bathrooms. They left lots of info on restaurants, museum, etc. easy walk to subway which is express to the theater area/Times Square. We rec juice hugger, Nostrand pub, Brooklyn flea market in the neighborhood. A bit farther but still in Brooklyn: tkts booth for discount broadway tix, Delaware and Hudson fir a special occasion meal, Brooklyn museum of Art. Anyway, these are great airbnb hosts with a spacious and cozy flat. Unbelievable value, too. We would return.
We were met at the apartment by Rich on the day we moved in. He was really informative about the local area - shops, bars, restaurants and so forth - and talked to us comprehensively about the house. We booked this some time ago for a special occasion and during the preceding months, both Rich and Sara were incredibly helpful with suggestions and recommendations of how to make the celebrations go with a bang!
The flat itself is absolutely great. There are lots of lovely touches and handmade items. The space was ample for four of us. It was a very relaxing, warm and cosy flat to come back to after a long day exploring the local area and/or Manhattan.
We highly recommend this as a base for exploring Brooklyn, and it's quick and easy to travel into Manhattan via the A train.
The area transforms after dark - we found some amazing local restaurants such as Catfish (Bedford Ave) and Mayfield (Franklin). We would also highly recommend an Italian restaurant, Al di La Trattoria, in Park Slope (a cab ride away) - it was perfect for a celebratory dinner.
All in all, we had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend the flat to anyone wanting an authentic Brooklyn experience.
Imagine this photo with a gigantic decorated Christmas tree, topped with an angel. We had a great time in New York and want to thank Rich and Sara for a perfect period in the Big Apple!
The apartment was very luxurious, comfty having all the facilities you can imagine. Rich was present and helpful at the moment of arrival and when we left.
The only thing I can do is to recommend this apartment whole-heartedly.

Amazing apartment, very comfortable, modern and clean. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
We were a party of 6 adults and The Brooklyn Woodworker was an ideal base to explore both Brooklyn and the City.
Rich was there to meet us when we arrived and was very helpful getting us settled. The apartment is lovely and stylish - everything you need - warm, welcoming and comfortable.
Both Rich and Sara on hand during the week and helped us out with Pizzas and reliable taxi cab company when we needed it . The standard yellow cabs do not take six!
A fabulous week was had by all and I would not hesitate in recommending them as perfect hosts .
Wonderful place to have three groups of friends together for the season. Handmade details and art; wonderful furniture and bedding; great neighborhood for meals bringing some home. Easy to the city or to walk to other parts of Brooklyn. The family put up a Christmas tree for us and were super helpful about all our needs. We won't stay anywhere else ever.
This is a fabulous spot! A breath of fresh air in the heart of Brooklyn. Rich and Sara made sure we had everything we needed and went out of their way to accommodate our hectic schedule over the Thanksgiving holiday. They carefully outlined the many different sites to see nearby and the excellent eating establishments within walking distance. The apartment is spacious and comfortable! We would without a doubt stay there again.
Sara and Rich were the perfect hosts and we couldn't have asked for more. They helped us prepare for our trip with lots of good tips and advice and the wonderful service continued after we arrived. There were lots of toys for our two young boys to play with and we were even offered Halloween costumes to borrow. They honestly thought of everything! The apartment had everything we needed and we felt very much at home. The perfect place to spend Halloween and the marathon weekend in New York!
I have known Rich and Sara (and the kids!) for 3 years and I couldn't think of better people to trust with your stay in Brooklyn. Their attention to detail and their ability to take care of those around them is unmatched. I have been in the apartment many times and it is a gem...Something unique and handmade in every corner!
We have known Rich and Sara since our kids first met in the playground three years ago. Being the most amazingly generous and warm people, they opened their hearts and home to us and we quickly became firm friends. You won't find a couple with more integrity. Rich's master craftsmanship can be seen throughout their beautifully created and maintained home. Thus it is without hesitation that I recommend their home as a place you would want to stay: it would make perfect vacation accommodation for you as a family, couple or single.
I have known Rich for 9 years. He has always been honest, generous, and resourceful. He hosted our figure-drawing group in his wood shop and made us feel at home with a crackling wood stove and hand-made easels. His apartment on Pacific Street is clean, spacious and furnished with his own high-end, modern furniture. I recommend Rich for his reliability, honesty and attention to detail. He'll make your stay in Brooklyn enjoyable and worry-free.
