The apartment was beautiful and spacious. My family stayed here for two nights, and we had a lovely time. The massive kitchen table hosted us all for large family dinners, and the ample room space and comfy beds ensured everyone got a great night's rest. The apartment is beautiful and we would highly recommend.
The neighborhood is fantastic and full of bars and restaurants in one direction (a little less fun on the other side).
Rich was extremely helpful and the perfect accomodating host.
We staid at the Brooklyn Woodworker for 1 week with 2 families ( 8 in total - 4 parents & 4 teenagers ). The flat is completely corresponding to the description and the pictures. Being 8, the flat never felt small of crowded! Rich and Sara are extremly helpfull and react very quickly and dertermined if you have a question or a problem. They are genuine warm hosts! It took some time to get used to the - at first sight - rough neighbourhoud for us europeans, but eventually we must affirm that it's safe. The subway to Manhattan (A train) is a 5 to 10 minutes away. We can only recommend this place. If we should revisit NY, we would certainely stay here again!
As a family with 3 children, we stayed for a week hosted by Sara and Rich. We really enjoyed our time there and could have stayed longer but unfortunately the holiday was over :-) The apartment corresponds exactly to the pictures and the description here on Airbnb. Beds are very comfortable and the apartment is clean, lovingly furnished and equipped with all the necessities. There were even plug adapters for us Europeans prepared and a warm welcome message! The apartment is relatively quiet for the conditions in New York but a late-night-party in the neighborhood is always possible - It's just NYC! Tip: If you do not want to be disturbed by the heater at night, just reduce the temperature a few degrees before going to bed. Surroundings is nice with a lot of restaurants and shops in walking distance. We can absolutely recommend the apartment and of course Sara and Rich as Hosts. Hopefully we will be back for some days in future!
I have nothing but absolute happiness and praise when I think of our time spent at the woodworker. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Leading up to the trip I had several questions which I emailed Rich about and they were always answered promptly with very informative and helpful advise. The neighborhood was lovely with lots to do and lots of good restaurants and coffee options. All of us slept better than ever. The beds were soooo comfortable, the silence was beautiful, the linen was delicious to sleep in and the house itself was so stylish and homely. We loved the high chair and the kids toys. It really was hard to leave this place. I could have moved in and stayed forever. The A train was close by and handy and the taxi fares back to Brooklyn late at night from Manhattan were handy. The printer had no ink and I emailed rich and he was there in the morning as soon as shops opened with new ink. Thank you thank you thank you for sharing your beautiful home with me and my family. Hopefully we will be back again one day.
We had a great time in the Brooklyn Woodworker apartment. Rich and Sarah were easy to contact and provided lots of helpful information. The apartment itself was very clean and tidy, well appointed and exactly as advertised. It is conveniently close to a subway stop and feels 'authentically Brooklyn'.
We very much enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend it to anyone else.
The apartment is exactly as you can see it in the pictures. Its a fantastic place with plenty of room and the nice decoration and furniture shown in the picture. Its very very clean, bathrooms look like a hotel bathroom.
There is a great attention to detail in the place and Rich and his wife were amazing hosts.
They are both very nice and friendly and try to help as much as they can. They have posted many suggestions and information about the area including restaurants and buying groceries on their blackboard and in the kitchen which was very helpful. It was a great stay and I would definitely come back next time I'll be in New York.
Rich is a woodworker and the interior of his place shows. A lot of it is beautifully redone. The beds are comfortable and the whole house is wired to the stereo - very cool.
Plus Rich gives you the low down on the neighborhood restaurants- makes you feel like a local right off the bat.
I have known Rich and Sara (and the kids!) for 3 years and I couldn't think of better people to trust with your stay in Brooklyn. Their attention to detail and their ability to take care of those around them is unmatched. I have been in the apartment many times and it is a gem...Something unique and handmade in every corner!
We have known Rich and Sara since our kids first met in the playground three years ago. Being the most amazingly generous and warm people, they opened their hearts and home to us and we quickly became firm friends. You won't find a couple with more integrity. Rich's master craftsmanship can be seen throughout their beautifully created and maintained home. Thus it is without hesitation that I recommend their home as a place you would want to stay: it would make perfect vacation accommodation for you as a family, couple or single.
I have known Rich for 9 years. He has always been honest, generous, and resourceful. He hosted our figure-drawing group in his wood shop and made us feel at home with a crackling wood stove and hand-made easels. His apartment on Pacific Street is clean, spacious and furnished with his own high-end, modern furniture. I recommend Rich for his reliability, honesty and attention to detail. He'll make your stay in Brooklyn enjoyable and worry-free.
