Initially we wanted to stay 3 months, but Oded kindly let us know that with a little kid it probably would be to small, so we ended up booking it 1 month and in case it would work for us he offered to extend the stay. I was glad we only took it for one month, as this room is not really lovely as the title says.
Oded and Lea were very helpful and when we did let them know that the bathroom wasn't very clean and had mold on a couple of spots and hairs on the ceiling he came and did his best to remove it.
They brought us also things like a electric kettle and tea towel when we asked for some, which was helpful.
The area is great, there is a nice Famers Market on Sunday, it is close to Golden Gate Park, lots of nice restaurants and cafes and you can have a nice view over the city. There is also a bus station directly in front of the house.
When people rent the apartment above it gets really noisy, you can literally follow a conversation. The pictures I think are a bit misleading, they look well lit and were probably taken when the apartment was newly done, but we never felt joy coming home, it was more a necessary evil as it is very dark and smelt like cellar in the bedroom. We ended up leaving after two weeks, as we found something much nicer.
When you are a single person/couple and want to visit the city for a couple of days this works well, as it is not so expensive and you can see other things than just downtown.
Oded and Lea are great hosts; they really do want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I lived in this apartment for about 3 months and it was exactly what I was looking for. Located in a great area of town, the neighborhood is safe with lots of young families and many little shops & restaurants. There are plenty of places to purchase groceries within walking distance, including a Sunday farmers market. Close proximity to Golden Gate Park and just down the Moraga is another park (up many stairs) with a beautiful view overlooking the city. It is quiet, but you can still find a few late night places to eat and the bars are fun with good laid back atmospheres. There is a bus stop just outside the front door that will take you to ferry plaza or you are 3 blocks up from the N Judah line that will also take you downtown.
This is a downstairs, slightly subterranean, unit; when I was staying here, there was a man renting Oded & Lea's upstairs unit. A few downsides, the walls and floors are thin so every movement made above is heard below. There is also a sliding glass door to the outside deck above the downstairs bedroom which is actually quiet loud. The most frustrating thing I encountered about the rental, however, was the severe lack of reliable cell service and internet connection. I couldn't use my cell phone a a mobile hotspot because I could not get the necessary service to provide for one.
Overall, I did enjoy living in the unit. It served my needs and inner sunset is a great place to live. Oded and Lea are extremely accommodating.
Very cute and cozy in-law apartment. Fit three people very comfortably. Host was very responsive when we had questions or problems and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Great place to stay. With a muni monthly pass it's very convenient to get downtown. The place is very clean, spacious and well equipped. Lea and Oded were highly responsive.
What a nice place. Spacious and maintained well. Staying in an apartment instead of a hotel was perfect for our weeklong trip.
The location was nice for a family -- residential, right near MUNI busses an light rail, and blocks from coffee and pastry shops and other amenities. Just make sure you can handle a hill. Really, that's a requirement if visiting San Francisco. The garage was a great convenience since we rented. It's a tight fit for a minivan but it worked.
The rent was very reasonable given the time of year we went and the location. Oded and Lea were responsive to every one of our questions leading up to the trip and our needs during it.
The best recommendation we can give: we'd stay there again.
Very enjoyable stay for the summer. A few little hiccups with the wireless but these were at no fault of Oded's and he always tried to resolve any issues as quick as possible. The kitchenette was limited with no conventional oven, but this wasn't as much of an obstacle as we thought it would be; the toaster oven worked wonderfully. Good access to the city centre too!
We had a very great time at Oded apartment. Everything was clean and the apartment is really well located. You can take very easily a bus to go downtown. It is quite easy also to find a place to park your car.
The apartment was clean and the neighborhood seemed nice and quiet. Oded was responsive and friendly.
This nice basement apt. is conveniently located near bus and streetcar lines, as well as shops and restaurants. Owners were very enjoyable to work with. SF was wonderful! Everything was clean and as described.
Oded and Lea made of my arrival and first month in San Francisco a very pleasant experience. Check in/out and communication with them was very easy. The place is just fine! Quite spacious, very clean, very convenient location, quiet neighborhood and has all the basics to get you started in the City or to assure you a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend it!
It was our pleasure to accommodate Oded and his wonderful family!
We hope to see them again very soon.
Oded was completely considerate of my home and things. He and his companion and child were so quiet upon departure that I thought they were still here. They even took out their own trash. I recommend you host Oded and family.
DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO MEET ODED, BUT HE LEFT THE UNIT NICE AND TIDY... DEFINITELY WELCOME BACK
