Katja was gracious. Communication was easy. Nice neighborhood, convenient to subway. This was my first Airbnb experience. I will use the service again.
I was made to feel welcome. I was late arriving, but person at address received me courteously and showed me to my room. The room was quite adequate, though somewhat more spare than the photograph indicates. The bathroom was shared, but close by. There was considerable street noise by trucks and cars up until about 11 and beginning in the morning about 7. As an old New Yorker, I was able to adjust to this without much difficulty. Subway was in easy walking distance and no sense of menace in the neighborhood at night, at least up until midnight, my latest return.
A bonus for me, a cat lover, was a gorgeous, friendly striped cat who visited me several times. I'd like to know his or her name to put on the photo I took. A very special cat.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Katja, but she left clear instructions for leaving the apartment when I left and no one was around. It was certainly a successful visit.
Apt is within easy walking distance to subway and a quick ride downtown.we required parking and it is available, you have to do a little jockeying for it.the neighbourhood has lots of restaurants and we never felt wary in it.we never got to actually meet katja as she was on holidays.she did leave us in good hands with some of her friends and she texted us as well.on the whole we were well taken care of.
The House is in great locality, and Katja and Jermaine were great! We enjoyed our stay in NYC.
Our hosts were kind, and they have very nice kids and cats :)...the check in as quite smooth, and so was the check out, they let us leave our luggage there few hours after the check out time and then come back to pick it up and go to the airport. The value for the price is quite good. However, we found the neighborhood a bit noisy and not so safe at night (at least, it didn´t feel so), and the room quite warm at night. For the rest, everything was good.
She was very kind as was her husband. The neighborhood at first felt a bit sketchy but it ended up being. Wouldn't walk around alone at night though.
I selected Katja and Jermaine's listing on my trip to NYC based both on price and location. I went to NY to attend my son's graduation. I wanted to keep my costs down and wanted easy subway access to both my son's apartment in Brooklyn and to Manhattan. This fit my needs perfectly - the Church Av station with Q and B lines is just a few short blocks away, and there were several food and produce shops on Flatbush just a block away. Katja and Jermaine were both thoughtful and friendly and communicated promptly about anything that might concern me. I was rarely in the apartment between 9 am and 10 pm, so didn't have much interaction with the family, but the two boys are very cute and also pretty quiet in the mornings when I generally slept later than the family did. I only used the kitchen to make tea a couple times. The bathroom is shared with the family but no one was ever using it when I wanted to. The room is small, clean, and comfortable, with a bed, loveseat, and a little bit of closet space. The neighborhood is noisy (like most of NYC) but I always felt safe coming and going and even had a few laughs interacting with people on nearby Flatbush Ave. This is a modest accommodation in a neighborhood with no tourist attractions, as reflected in the price, but I would gladly stay there again.
Katja and Germaine were great hosts! She responded promptly and warmly upon my initial inquiry. The apartment was nice and clean and really accessible from the subway. They were very organized and prepared to host. We would have loved to stay longer!
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and Katja and her family were friendly and accommodating. Easy train ride (Q train) to the heart of the city :)
Katja and her husband were wonderful guests! They were very friendly, clean, thoughtful, and quiet. We found them really easy to communicate regarding check in and check out and have no complaints at all regarding their stay. We'd be happy to recommend them to other airbnb hosts without hesitation!
Katja is a great person and I'm sure she'll be a wonderful host. I live in the neighborhood, and I can say that is a nice area located a few blocks from Prospect Park. It is also conveniently located close to the train and it will take you to Midtown Manhattan in 30 min. If you are looking for a nice place to stay in Brooklyn, this is a good choice and you're gonna have a good time.
Katja is incredibly kind and thoughtful. She will go out of her way to make your stay the best that it can be. Her warm personality and caring heart will be sure to make you feel at ease. Her and her family would be lovely hosts!
I have known Katja and Jermaine for many years now.
They are both very genuine, friendly and easy going people who will make sure your stay at their home is a very pleasant experience. They are very helpful also so don't be afraid to ask if you need help with anything.
Katja has worked as a "tourist guide" for many of her relatives and friends who have visited New York and she knows very well how to get around and great tourist attractions to see. She is very outgoing and easy to get along.
Jermaine is very kind and helpful person who will make you feel very welcomed and do everything to help if you have any problems.
And of course not to forget their beautiful son Jordan, whose smile will definitely brighten up your day! :)
The apartment itself is very spacious, the living room has high ceilings and it's very clean and comfortable. No rats or bugs in here :) Your private room has a lock in the door and very comfortable queen sized bed and an air conditioner.
The building has an elevator which is a life saver, especially when you are traveling with big luggage.
The Q train is close by that takes you quickly to Manhattan or in about 25 minutes to the Coney Island beach & amusement park. Also, my personal favorite when I'm visiting Katja & Jermaine is to walk to the beautiful Prospect Park that offers a great competition to Manhattan's Central Park. Walk through there can definitely take your stress and mind away from the busy city light.
The area where Katja & Jermaine live is safe and has a lot of restaurants and stores to shop in. A pharmacy, Dunkin' Donuts and Subway are all walking distance.
I visit Katja and Jermaine very often and I can highly recommend staying that their home. They are very respectful and easy going people and their apartment will make you feel just like home.
