Be my guests and enjoy the city at your own home (Taksim Comfort Home) in istanbul.
I had a good experience staying in Taksim Comfort Home. Very comfy clean bed and bathroom. Vedat is the best example of the Turkish' friendliness and warmth.
There's a lot of construction going on in this upcoming area but it felt safe to walk at any time. It's quiet at night... nice for sleeping.
Thumbs up Vedat!
Very friendly Staff, very close to Taksim Square and the main shopping street Itsikal. All good! Would recomend!
Vedat´s comfort home, situated near Taksim square and Istiklal cadessi, served as a great base for exploring the european part of Istanbul. We walked everyday through Istiklal, past the Galata tower and over the Galata bridge to the historical centre and back. It was so nice to find a clean room with a nice double bed and superb shower for an economic price.
Me and my girlfriend stayed with Vedat for 17 days, and had a good time.
Clean room, comfy bed, good and friendly service.
Vedat was lovely, and his english great. The building has a number of ensuite rooms, very very clean and the shower worked. The location is very close to Taksim square, very central. It is down a back street, which is a little dirty but not too dark. As a woman alone coming home at night, I felt ok - no one bothered me and I did not feel unsafe - but I am 56 with grey hair...and I found the people of Istanbul as charming and friendly as their city is beautiful. I was in Istanbul for a conference, and a number of my younger female colleagues were bothered by men staring and being rude.
On the minus side, the lift broke whilst I was there (though I was not in the lift at the time ) and the air conditioning didn't work. I left very early in the morning (5am) and when leaving passed the night watchman (fast asleep) with the front door to the building open.
Overall I enjoyed staying in Vedat's place a million times better than the Ramada, where I had been for the conference, and it cost 5 times as much!!!
This was the first of many rooms we will stay in on our budget trip, and it was more than we expected. The linens and room in general were very clean, and we certianly felt safe leaving our belongings in the room. So in regards to ammenities/cleanliness/safety, we were happy. What made the stay really positive was the host Vedat. From meeting us at the bus stop to walk us to the hotel, to coming up to our room to show us around and make sure everything was in order, to serving us breakfast (even outside of the 8-10am window), he was wonderful. We would recommend this place for anyone traveling to Istanbul on a budget who wants to stay near Taksim Square, particularly because of Vedat's friendliness and ability to help us out during our stay.
