Thanks Beatrice for acknowledging our care in looking after the house. The review is far from the airbnb spirit. I was surprised that a compensation was not offered to us as we could not use one bathroom and the washer for 5 days, half our stay. The leakage happened on Friday early morning and the plumber was arranged for Monday and fixed it late Tuesday. Meanwhile we took care of the house, we prevented a leakage from damaging the hardwood floor, and cleaned twice, after the plumber left.
I brought this to airbnb team attention. In we on our part, even watered the plants as requested during our stay. The pricing negotiation is common for extended stay, hosts already offer discounted rate for longer stay. The house was available until the day before your departure. This pricing did not factor in a leakage problem, which was unpredictable as the house looks recently renovated from the picture. It is advertised as a designer house. We learned the hard way that the designer showers might have problems and you were aware of it as you pointed out to the plumber a possible problem origin. We had to reschedule all our meetings and spent time taking care of the house to let the plumber in. I am not leaving a stranger in someone else house and with all my belongings, alone. We could not use the master bathroom and the washer for 5 days. The kid room is advertised as available but was packed with toys and objects and unusable, which was ok for us. I note that you are new to airbnb and wanted to give you the opportunity to improve, with my private comments. Please note that it is not customary for airbnb rent to leave the clothes in the dryer, to leave very limited hanging space in the only available closet, to leave milk and perishable items in the fridge and advise that a cleaning lady will be at the apartment a certain day while she is not showing up. We had stellar reviews from previous hosts and guests and hope you will take our comments into account to improve the experience of the next guest.
