I am quiet, well-read, well-travelled professional woman and a gardening enthusiast.
This was perfect for us - just the right size for 2 and very peaceful. The gardens and view are lovely, and the small touches - breakfast basics, for example - were very thoughtful.
My wife and I loved our stay here. Jen is accommodating, kind and friendly - So much so, that we felt like we were staying in the guesthouse of a long time family friend instead of a stranger.
The only thing we regret is not being able to take full advantage of the beautiful grounds. There is some lovely spaces to write, reflect, and/or sun bathe. We plan on staying here again next time we come through West Sonoma County.
Inside, a charming, comfortable guest house, outside a lovely garden filled with honey bees and hummingbird, a sweet place to sit while enjoying your coffee. We had a special treat---left the windows wide open while we slept and were treated to the low hoots of a pair of barn owls and a concert from the coyotes.
Jen is lovely and welcoming, very helpful to making your stay as perfect as possible. If you want to stay in the beautiful Sonoma countryside near funky Sebastopol and just a short drive to the coast, this is the place.
Jen is a fun, easy-going hostess and Nola is a wonderful companion. We spent much of the weekend doing some planning so were seeking a quiet place to work, take a break (hike), and go to town for dinner. Jen's place was the perfect location. Highly recommend and we will book again!
Jen is warm and friendly and communicates often and clearly. She has a great homestead that overlooks the rolling hills. The guesthouse is bright and airy and with beautiful gardens and seating areas to enjoy the gardens. There are a few farms nearby that have a great selection of fresh vegetables, as well as Bill's Market down the street for other needs.
Feeling refreshed and relaxed after our labor day stay with Jen. Jen has a great sense of humor and kind manner that instantly put us at ease. Her lovely guesthouse is perfectly located: removed from the main roads (quiet!), but a quick drive to local wine country and nearby towns. Standouts from our weekend included sipping wine at Lynmar winery (Jen's suggestion!), dinner at Underwood Bistro, and shopping for vintage finds at Antique Society. Go to Sebastopol and stay with Jen if you can!
Jen was an absolutely fantastic host. Her place is beautiful, it's secluded with beautiful views and an ideal place for some rest and relaxation. Jen is also really welcoming, I couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend to anyone.
We loved the amazing sweet cottage! The property was wonderful and the views outstanding.
Jen is a very gracious host willing to provide much information on the area and great places to hang out and eat.
We also enjoyed the company of Nola her lovely canine campanion who greeted us on occasion.

The Hillside guesthouse is the place to go if you are looking for quiet. It is relaxing, beautiful and has all the little touches to let you sink in. Jen was great. We look forward to going back.
This is an amazing little cottage tucked away in rural hills of Sebastopol. It is within 20 minutes of amazing Sonoma wine country, the ocean, and near great towns such as Healdsburg and Guerenville. We loved the quaint, clean, well-lit space and the seclusion and privacy. Jen was very nice and accomodating. We enjoyed staying here and would definitley recommend this location.
