A bit of everything in good measure :p
I stayed with my husband and my two children (9 and 7 years old) at Nuria's place. There was great communication with her from the start. She gave us lots of information and valuable tips about our visit.
Her place is like staying at your friend's house. It is very nice and clean. Like most of NY it is an old construction, but well maintained and with a few upgrades. Very close to Manhattan (just a couple of subway stops from it). May be a little bit far from the subway (10-15 min. walk), but if we did it with kids and suitcases, hey, anyone can do it.
Althougt the building is right next to pretty busy streets, there's no noise and you get to have the benefits of being just around the corner from everything, like a great market (!!!) stocked with all you may need. It has an excellent selection of organics and fresh produce. On our way back everyday we'd stop at it to get the things we needed to make dinner. It makes a huge difference after a busy day to come home and have a homemade meal, a shower and some time to relax and read a book or play a game with the kids. By the way, Nuria had a couple of hula hoops and a stepper machine my kids loved! Thanks.
The apt. has great light. Every room has a window. The place is really private. The kids got to stay together in separate beds in one room and we stay in the other room.
I never got to meet Nuria (was out of town), but she referred us to her friend Silvio, who also was very nice and willing to hep.
Overall, a great experience and would repeat.
