Overall this was a positive experience. Guillermo was very communicative and the house was in good order. We had a great experience during our 3 days here and enjoyed that it was in a residential community so we got to feel like we were actually living among Mexicans. Additionally, having a full kitchen at our disposal was really nice. Definitely a big plus!
I had a couple of knocks against the place. The main difficulty is that it's very difficult to sleep there. The neighbors' dogs continually bark through all hours of the night: 10 pm, 12:30 am, 2am, 6:30 am. It wasn't until the third night when my body began to tune them out that I got descent sleep. If you are a light sleeper at all I highly encourage earplugs and perhaps some noise-canceling headphones or white-noise maker.
The other difficulty is that we didn't have hot water for the first 1.5 days. I have to say that Guillermo was very responsive and had somebody out to fix that as soon as he could, but it made for a couple of cold showers in the meantime haha.
All things considered, I wouldn't shy away from staying here again because I think the hot water not working was a one-time issue (the battery on the water heater died), but I would definitely bring noise-canceling headphones.
This is a great place! The house is exceptionally clean and well kept.
It's a little south of Ensenada which means it's very quiet. The town it's in has some great food stalls as well.
I'd definitely recommend this place to a friend.
The pictures of the home were exact. Very beautiful. Big master bedroom. Well sized 2 other rooms. Amazing home. Big enough for larger groups of 6. Very private and accommodating. Beautiful view from second floor. Quiet street. Not many neighbors. The neighborhood was lively towards the main hwy. The beach by car is 5 mins south behind the home, Public beach called Monalisa, loved it soft sand, clean water, more private even though its public. Rough road in neighborhood, drive slow. Hosts personal directions helped us navigate through the streets to the home. Amazing local taco stands. Shopping is 12-15 min drive towards downtown area. Where majority of tourists go to shop and bar hop (party scene). Amazing sea food by the port and small boat trips. I would return just to relax at the home and visit that Monalisa beach and have some amazing Tacos Del Poblano.
Very nice house, with all the amenities and a nice back yard ... Really quiet neigborhood close to the Estero beach but not close to downtown ... I recommend it a lot.
We had a perfect getaway weekend at La Paloma apartments! We loved the nicely landscaped complex and friendly people, as well as the condo itself. You will find everything you need (from Pots to spices). The location is great (just a short drive from the border) and our host was very helpful with the organization.
We had a great time there, enjoying the pool, Jacuzzi, sandy beaches and a great lobster feast in the close by Puerto Nuevo. Definitely a place to come back too. Thank you!
overall this place was a great deal. The neighborhood is a little rough but all of my family was really happy with the actual house itself. First off the house was really spacious and I greatly appreciated that the area was surprisingly quiet. Im just going to say that the place isn't perfect, there are little cosmetic details here and there but they are easily overlooked. The host is pretty awesome at communicating any questions back to you and he seems like a nice person. We spent most of our time in Ensenada out and about and so we didn't spend most of our time inside the house but the time that we did spend was pretty relaxing. If you do decide to stay here the night, make sure to bring a fan because if you have the window/sliding door open, you will suffer some mosquito bites as I found out the hard way. Overall I can say that I was satisfied.
The house is wonderful! The pictures do not do it justice. We had a great time! The drive to downtown costs a little over $100 pesos one way. There are plenty of things to do for young and old alike. There is a taco stand a couple block down Avenida Jose Maria Morelos y Pavón which leads you to the house which sells amazing pastor!! If you are looking for a peaceful retreat but still want to experience the buzz of downtown this is the place for you!! Guillermo was amazing by the way and super helpful!! One last tip, I had a problem with the lock on the gate because I don't know anything about locks, remember to push in and then pull, still extremely embarrassed I couldn't open it.
The place is cozy and comfortable, the beach is nice and the complex is safe!
The home was very nice and well-cleaned. Guillermo was very kind and made sure we had everything in order for our stay. The decoration seemed very local and beautiful. It has a wonderful fire-pit and two extraordinary showers as well as a giant bath-tub. The water is salt-water which is a bit of a shock if you are not used to it but this is not uncommon in Ensenada from what I understand. It seems like somebody lives here full-time now because the drawers are packed with useful things and the property is better maintained than some of the previous comments let on. If you have water jugs, bring them. They have a water dispenser for you to use if you bring your own fresh water. The neighborhood is not very developed so this genuinely nice home stands out from the rest. The garage works well and so does the gate so thieves are not an issue. I would still advise against bringing a car because the roads surrounding the home are all dirt with many pot-holes. It is a short drive away from the beach.
