Hello, i am Jacqueline, I am looking forward to welcome you. I am an amateur comedian, and a I am involved with a theater association.
It was a very enjoyable staying at Jacqueline's flat. Jacqueline welcome me and was very kind showing me around the flat and the neighbourhood . Jacqueline is a very generous person and willing to make your stay pleasant. The flat is big, bright and well equipped. It is located in a lovely and very traditional French neighbourhood and I deeply enjoyed walking its streets and taking pictures; the transport can't be better. I would not hesitate to recommend you to stay with Jacqueline. I even forget a connector for my IPad and Jacqueline returned it to me. Diana -Birmingham- England.
This is a great place to stay in Paris. Jacqueline is a conscientious host; met me on time and had gone to the spring water fountain in the square across the street and brought me a bottle of fresh water. I made that trek a ritual every morning. The apartment is well appointed, comfortable and well equipped. However, it is only for a single person. The location is great, if you don't mind being away from the tourist areas, but within easy reach of those areas, as the subway station about 7 minutes walk has three subway lines going to the Eiffel tower, the Louvre and Bastille. The small street the apartment is located on, has pubs and restaurants for locals and the building itself has a grocery, bakery and a wine shop just outside the main door. The possibilities of never leaving the building are there! The only problem I had with this apartment was leaving! I will definitely book this apartment again. Thank you Jacqueline.
A wonderful apartment - stylish, artistically decorated, spatious, warm and sunny, with a sophisticated touch. Has a nice, fully equipped kitchen. Makes you feel at home in a very pleasant and safe neighbourhood. Less than 5-min. walk from Place d'Italie, with easy access to metro lines and buses. The street Butte-aux-Cailles, where the apartment building is situated, is dotted with lively bars and restaurants. The nearby open market on Tuesdays and Sundays is a spectacular.sight, which shouldn't be missed.
Jacqueline, the host, had done her best to make me feel welcome and comfortable. My gratitude to her and to your wonderful site, which I'll be using again!
My trip to Paris was wonderful, and one of the reasons was to have selected Jacqueline's apartment, she welcomed me with a cup of tea and pastries, and plenty of information which she keeps at hand for her guests....it is on a great location, 5 minutes walk to the Place D'Italie Metro, and in 15 minutes I am at the Louvre - Palais Royale, or the Opera...awesome!! The apartment is sunny and pleasant, has 3 balconies, two facing the park, one to the street; it is on the fourth floor, the kitchen is perfect, with also a window to the street; the windows are brand new and keep the noise down, so at night you can sleep soundly, and during the day everything becomes lively, and just what Paris life is in a small neighborhood.... I did not cook, except for having hot chocolate with delicious pastries from the bakery downstairs; I also picked up fresh juice and milk from Carrefur, just down the street, but for those who would like to do so, there are fresh markets for produce and meats near by....there is a wonderful wine shop downstairs "NIcholas", great prices, cheese shop....everything at your fingertips! Another plus is the wonderful selection of restaurants in the neighborhood that do not break the bank, French, Algerian, Basque, Moroccan; in some of them you will share tables with people; at Basque restaurant ,it is on a corner building with funky art on the outside walls( make sure you arrive by 7 pm, because by 7 :30 pm it will be packed) , and that was so much fun, specially traveling alone;the Algerian, Chez Mamuna (?) across the street, and a hole on the wall with great Tagine and couscous... they were very welcoming and helpful.....and not too far, some of the best Laotian, Vietnamese and Thai or Chinese in the Asian district, just a 20 minute walk away....The park across the park has a fresh spring water filler where everyone goes to fill their bottles; a saving tip! The prices at the restaurants are better that the tourist areas, and the food, well delicious!! I took the Metro and walked everywhere, and would come home to totally relax with a glass of wine, and some cheese from the fromagerie across the street and that delicious baguette from the pattisserie, downstairs....Also, the neighborhood has a feeling of a small villlage, in some places it reminded me of being in the South of France.....very safe, walk around and explore it; you will be pleasantly surprised..... I was traveling alone, and many times I came home at 2, 3 or 4 am, and felt perfectly safe....I am looking forward to my next visit, and plan to stay at Jacqueline's apartment....She is a delightful and helpful hostess and I think the next guests will agree with my opinion...So if you stay there, you will know you made a good choice...and about the restaurants....well , you will not run out of choices!!! .Bon voyage!
Jacqueline's apartment was a stylish and comfortable home away from home for me. I had a month in Paris and had stayed in a hotel and a studio apartment but my week here was the pick of these accommodations. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom were roomy. The toilet was on the small side but wasn't a problem for me. The apartment was in good condition, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The unit is on a busy intersection but because it is on the fourth floor and the windows in the lounge room are very sound proof noise wasn't a problem. The apartment is on the corner of the building so has extra windows and opening these gave a beautiful breeze.
I didn't meet Jacqueline as she was away but had good email communication at all times and a lovely man met me exactly on time, explained things to me and made me feel welcome.
I was a woman travelling alone but felt comfortable walking around the area on my own. It is a lovely neighbourhood with easy access to a metro and buses. It is an area mainly occupied by locals rather than being part of the frantic tourist spots. I felt completely free of any need to watch for pickpockets which I had started to find wearing after three weeks in Paris.
All in all if I am lucky enough to go back to Paris, and I have started plans to do that, I would love to stay in Jacqueline's apartment again.
Jacqueline's home is fantastic and she is a lovely host. The apartment is very well served by public transport. The nearby bakery and fishmongers' are a plus too. All in all, I would definetely come back to stay in this lovely apartment.
