I am originally from Shreveport, but moved to New Orleans back in 2010. I enjoy outdoors, traveling, theatre, film, sports, and anything that is interesting.

Zach is a terrific host and his place offers a perfect opportunity to explore Uptown- where the locals enjoy great food and strong drink away from the crowds in the French Quarter. Of course, Zach's place is conveniently located close to several bus lines and near the streetcar so you can get downtown any time you like.
Zach was a great host. Everyone in the house was very kind. Great location and comfortable bed.
Great host, pleasant stay. Thank you, Zach! Couple of things to keep in mind: the place is not close to the French Quarter/Downtown, cab would cost you ~$20 (including tip); the pavement on the street is in a pretty bad condition, but there is plenty of parking.
Zach made me feel extremely welcome and had great knowledge on local attractions in Uptown. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a laid-back host.
Zach and his house mates were all great. They were chilled out, easy to talk to and helpful when it comes to giving advice and tips regarding the city. So long as you check public transport schedules ahead of time, this place is perfect.
Zach's communication was solid and prompt throughout the whole experience. He was a very flexible and accommodating host. My initial plans for check-in got messed up due to air travel problems that caused a really bad time delay with ripple effects and unknowns. I texted Zach with the situation and he provided me with an easy way to handle the matter.
The listing was very accurate --my room & the common spaces. I'm pretty sure I'd read a prior reviewer comment that the bed was really comfortable — I agree. But what was really the more unexpected pleasure was just how quiet it was: First off, the neighborhood-- no cars and busses roaring by. No industrial noise anywhere. And that was how it was inside as well. No mechanical noise from refrigerator sounds to anything else rattling around — and for me this is actually very uncommon. Perfect quiet, and I was able to sleep late with no noise to disturb me.
People Interactions: There was very little time at all that I saw the 3 people who also inhabit the house. I only saw Zach really once; very pleasant, helpful, respectful. One night I came back and met Courtney and Nick as they were watching TV, I watched a bit with them, and they were both very nice.
I should mention that for this listing it's a shared bath, but I did not have any conflict or timing issue at all. There's a very low-key vibe and everything just seems to work well.
Neighborhood: This is uptown New Orleans south of St. Charles Avenue, and very close to the Mississippi River. They're just 2 blocks from Audubon Park, a really wonderful park filled with huge Live Oaks with spanish moss, a fantastic zoo, and great overlook spot to the river.
This was my first time using Airbnb and I wanted to make sure I picked the best place for me and my girlfriend. I couldn't have picked a better place. The reviews almost don't do the area justice. The area is gorgeous (near the zoo and major parks) and unbelievably quiet and safe. It is a perfect retreat from the rowdier sections of New Orleans. Zach, his girlfriend, and roommate are extremely kind and thoughtful, never disturbing us, and willing to give suggestions to enhance your trip. Being able to come to a place where we could store food and just relax was a great delight. The bed and room were very comfortable and the cats were friendly. I will definitely vacation with this group again. Easily one of the best hosts I have ever met.
Zach and Courtney were very accommodating and a pleasure to stay with. I didn't think it was possible, but they somehow managed to make New Orleans even better. Well, them and their ridiculously cool cats. Had a perfect time!
I stayed at Zach's place for a week and had a great time! Zach is a really friendly guy and his girlfriend Courtney and roomie Jered were also very cool people to meet and hang out with. I kinda booked last minute, but Zach was fast to reply and very accommodating once I arrived- he provided a clean house including freshly cleaned bedding and towels. Access to things like the wifi, cable, kitchen, and laundry was really convenient. The location of the house in uptown was great, close to many neat neighborhoods of NOLA that feature great architecture, food, music, etc... Zach also has one of the coolest most chill cats I have ever seen! Overall my stay was really nice and allowed me to make friends with some really great people!
The good times will roll with Zach as your guest. He's totally chill, easy going and always has a smile on his face.
